I dunno if you have similar offerings to me, but my transAmerican acct is up 16.8
My American stocks are up 20/29%, but I'm heavily invested in a developing markets fund (35%) that only got 9% this year.

Thanks Munch
This is just my 401k performance. It's through Fidelity with an aggressive mix of their funds.
My highest % held funds are:
Glenmede Small Cap Equity Portfolio Class Advisor
up 42%YTD
Fidelity® Low-Priced Stock Fund
Up 29%YTD
That's a little taste!
My personal investing account is at a much lower rate, but I purchased a house a few months ago and liquidated a sizable portion. That cost me some of my return.
Still a great year overall.

a good return number on retirement account
is what?
For example, if one is retired and using the account for income production, a low-risk 9.77% return would be fine. OTOH if one is younger and trying to grow the account with a heavy proportion of securities, 9.77% is underperforming the market.
