bump.

Wrapping up R2 tonight and going to get into R3 (c-corporation, etc) tomorrow.

Feeling pretty good about the first two sections though, I am scoring high 80's-low 90's on the homework.

Good luck to everyone studying. Stay away from those dreaded 74's.

In my opinion, not a better test of a man's character than that.

I say that from experience with Reg, 73, then 74, finally low 80's.

what happened to accounting curricula teaching the exam? Back in the dark ages LSU students had to take classes that were designed to prepare them for the CPA exam. The AICPA tells you what will be on the exam, so I don't understand the need to pay for review courses.

If my employer hadn't been paying, I would probably be pulling out the old text books to study.

My advice is while going through FAR be sure to do a few sets of cumulative problems as your going through the book because it is soooo much info by the time you get to F10 you will have completely forgot F1 and some of the other earlier chapters so keep refreshing so you about having to completely relearn everything . F2 does suck and takes crazy amount of time to get through just keep trucking and on your re review it will make more sense. Also another71 has multiple choice questions for cheap and I found them to be very helpful for FAR and REG "those are the only 2 sections I used it for". I used Becker to study and adding another71 questions made me understand the info from a different perspective and more written in a way that more closely resembles the test in my opinion . Bottom line is you have to put in the hours studying to pass.

One more thing is do not let any testing windows pass without taking test especially after passing your first one . Ideally take one in the first week of the testing window and another one in the second month of the window.

Just walked out of BEC and I don't feel good about it at all. Guess I'll find out June 9th

Not sure if it's been mentioned in the thread yet, but if anyone is feeling frustrated or overwhelmed with the huge volume of information Becker and the other popular study materials offer, try Roger CPA's cram courses. They are cheaper, and much, much more efficient. I give Roger a lot of credit for helping me pass.

Took BEC this morning. Got a 74 on it last time in January. Only studied for 2 weeks this time but the material came back to me pretty easily.

I seem to narrow down about 3-4 questions each section to 50/50 so luck will play a role again I'm sure. I have no idea how some people score in the upper 90s.

I was uneasy about my BEC score. I didn't get to really finish the final writing prompt. I also struggled in the first set of MC questions.

Ended up with a 77. Sucks that you have to wait nearly a month to find out your score.

The test is designed to make you feel uneasy, regardless of whether you did well or did poorly. As long as you felt like the questions got substantially harder between the first and second sections of MC, I wouldn't stress.

It's going to be extremely difficult. The test isn't as hard as becker but as many have said its a mile wide and an inch deep. Your score will likely depend on the SIMs and if you're lucky enough to get ones you know. I passed all four parts on the first try in about six months while working full time so its 100% attainable but you have to put in the time. Becker was absolutely worth it as was the stress and time you have to put in to get it. I would wake up at 5, study for an hour and a half leave for work, work from 7-4:30 and study from 5 until 7-8. Fast forward two years after passing and my pay is up 40% and I am instantly taken seriously even though my skills have marginally improved due to experience.

You will feel the urge to give up but you can absolutely do it. Get it over with and never think about it again.

Passed mine last summer.

Everybody studies different but I just half paid attention to the lectures and then worked the Becker MC questions repeatedly. Then I would go study what I needed to after seeing what i didn't know from the mc questions. I did a few of the SIMS the day before the exam.

If there is just one or two things on a section you just can't get then leave it and master the rest

For those of you still in school do all you can to get done before you start work.

Good luck everybody

Cant stress this enough. If you have the time, get it out of the way.

I was offered a job the day after I graduated so I didn't have the time off to get it done. Six years later and working two jobs made it extremely difficult, but after 14 months, I did it.

Congrats on passing!

I am supposed to have my BEC score released today, but of course it is not posted. Sometimes it takes an extra day to release.
