Emery had 500 all purpose and got in the end zone 8 times last year it’s not like he didn’t contribute

I hope Williams and Emery both ball in 2023

Have we completely given up on Emery?

Who?
Fans?
Coaches?

If he’s eligible he will be the backup probably to Williams but Cain and Goodwin are good backs and Cain really got better with each carry last year.

Emery still flashes those plays like against bama the last three years . You have to keep him engaged just in case he breaks out. Even if he doesn’t breakout you have 600 yards all purpose pretty much .

So no I doubt he’s been given up on

Emery's what you want from a physical standpoint; Williams from a mental.

It would sure be nice if Emery emerged, but we've been saying that for a few years now.

I guess the good thing is, we're now in a QB-based system, and the backs are just playing roles. We don't need the 1000 yd back anymore.

Williams has two more years of eligibility, if he wants them.

He's technically a redshirt/Covid junior this year.

This should be on loop in the facility. That's the kind of desire that wins you games.

JW would be my first choice. Dependable. All purpose back. Emery still cannot get his ducks in a row in the classroom. Great talent but is not reliable. Armoni should get plenty of carries to if he is 100% healthy. Good vision and speed. Cain is the power back. Then the two freshman are great backs. I really hope to see Holly and Jackson. Trey Holly is a great back. We are in great shape if they are all healthy. That is the worry.

JOSH
EMERY
GOODWIN
CAIN

HOLLY and JACKSON

And I saw that he is a straight A student. Good for him.

The RB role in college football is going the direction of the NFL. Gone are the days where a RB would get 20 plus rushing attempts in a game.

It’s turning into a throwing league. I think we are close to the days where 10 carries in a game for one RB is going to be the exception to the rule.

Emery is a player of great unfulfilled potential.
And he shall forever remain such.

I know this is about josh Williams, but Brian Thomas absolutely destroyed Eli ricks on that play. Drove him off the field.

I still believe he's just a guy that was overlooked in recruiting. IMO, it's not surprising the success he's had. His father was a NFL RB and his brother is a PG at A&M. The bloodlines were always there.
