Sure he has shortcomings. He’s also the best we have

We can’t run the ball through a wet paper bag. We need Daniels for his running ability.

Put in Nuss with zero running game and watch what happens when teams like Bama pin their ears back and come after him.

He’d be on his arse before he could complete his drop back.

We need the threat of Daniels escaping the pocked to open up the pass bc we can’t run.

We need the threat of completing a pass past the sticks

The overreaction on this board right now is something else.

He'll throw it quickly A good passing game can open up the run game.

Are you implying JD is a threat to attack downfield consistently?

Did yall not watch last season? JD is pretty good when he's on, but he's inconsistant. Apparently thats not going to change this year so buckle up and enjoy the ride. We have much bigger problems than QB.

I'm flat out saying Daniels is a threat to complete passes past the sticks. It is an overreaction to say he is not a threat to complete passes past the sticks.

He has the capability to throw the ball that far, sure.

I think you're trying your best to minimize criticism of his style of play.

One of the biggest shortcomings is purely mental. Daniels will chuck the ball 38 yards sideline to sideline for a catch only 4 yards in front of the line of scrimmage, but has a block about throwing the ball 38 yards downfield.

I just don't understand that.

We got 5 senior offense analyst on staff as well as full time QB and WR coaches and yet we are still getting the same results as 2022 out of this stagnant offense that cannot convert a third down unless the referee gives it to them.

Daniels deserves criticism for not being on the same page with his receivers specifically nabers on a few occasions. He missed a few throws and missed a few reads but there were also drops and terrible play calls. The deep ball before the end of the quarter although it was under thrown still should have been caught.

Saying he is not a threat to complete passes past the sticks is flat out incorrect and an overreaction. That is not minimizing his criticism. SMH

JD is what he is. And he's not a vertical threat. No one is scheming us worried about his deep passing game.

Put in Nuss with zero running game

The passing game could open up the run game

That’s just not true, Nuss actually has skill and can feel threats and roll in the pocket to make throws if he needs to.
This by God opens up the run game.
Who knew?

He’s not perfect that’s for sure. My only issue is people blaming him for a loss he was very low on the list of people responsible. It was a full team loss from top to bottom, so he’s not blameless, but he was consistently failed by his coaches, offensive line, and receivers. Some guys can overcome that and still be elite, but he is not that guy.
