Fair enough. I thought you were insinuating it was relevant to the situation addressed by geauxxxtigers23. If that was the case, you didn't understand the stat and why it doesn't pertain to it.

My apologies.

ETA: Although you did quote him specifically and called it a myth. So I'm not really sure you didn't think it was relevant.

Nothing wrong with pitching Stallings on Friday.

bunting in the bottom of the 11th in a tie ballgame with runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

This was a no-brainer. Incredibly poor decision.

I'm just not a fan of bringing the closer in in a tie ballgame Exactly for situations like this. They had to keep on the mound and he wasn't available today. Not that that's what cost us the game, but we'll never know.

We pitched Stallings 4 innings Friday. We were the home team. There is no definite end in site. When you are visitors, you know if you scored or not and if 3 outs can win the game.

Not good.

Nothing wrong? Not a thing? Bugg was going fine. He only faced a batter. Could have gone longer, but I can see why Person came in to set up and then us take the lead...

But we didn't take the lead. At that point, you put person back out there, and save Stallings if you need to.

But okay, let's say there was nothing wrong with putting him in... you better believe it was a mistake to let him go 4 innings. 1) He's your damn closer, not a long relief. 2) He hasn't thrown more than an inning all year. 3) His injury may be long over, but pushing the limits on him like this was reckless. His arm hasn't been tested for that many innings in over 2 years... rehab for a year, the next summer, and fall. Never thrown that many in-game, 100% pitches. What a horrible time to test the waters.

For 4 innings? It was definitely a mistake.

Nah I just totally ignored the 11th inning part of it, and being home team. It's like that sometimes.

Wanna be around 20-10 at the end. This year, probably 22-8 to win the SEC.

We just need to be top 2 in the league. Like most years the SEC will have 2 top 8 seeds. The SEC is easily the best conference this year

Why would they be prepared its only baseball. Besides its the baseball gods fault. I googled baseball gods and found out that PM was chairman of the board.

The 2000 team was swept by Houston and lost their series with Georgia and Miss State. Oh, they also lost to McNeese not once, but twice. They had 22 losses.

The 2000 team did not have 22 losses. They finished 52-17.

It's all about playing best baseball down the stretch. Lsu 10 run ruled Vandy in Hoover last year. A month later Vandy was national champion.

It was a bad series, we had some bad breaks along with some questionable coaching decisions and some very lucky things to go the opponent's way. That's baseball. It's a long season. Boil some crawfish, drink some beer, and enjoy the next few months. But most of all, chill and let the season play out.

its hilarious to watch. posters throw up a baseball pic as their avi or sig and pretend to know what they're talking about...then proceed to freak the frick out after a couple of losses

Some very idiotic and stubborn coaching decisions that cost us.

Such a strange series. Both teams had opportunities to sweep the other.

We should be able to sweep this weekend against Bama and the UK series will be forgotten. Bama has a pretty bad team although on the road, getting a sweep shouldn't be too tough. We have to sweep either them or Auburn. I still like this team a lot with the experienced hitters. We don't get a team that hits this good very often. Dunn just needs to get some of these young pitchers primed for a postseason run. A loss in a regional or SR at home again is unacceptable. I would really like to see what Latz can do. If he throws a good midweek game or two I would look for him to possibly replace Godfrey. He has that kind of talent

When your head coach goes brain dead in the bottom of the 11th inning, it's sorta concerning.
