It's March, the season goes til June. Allow me to point out a few things for those of you whom employ a football/"we must win every game" mentality to the game of baseball.

The 1991 team was swept by Kentucky and lost their series with Tennessee. They also lost to Southeastern, McNeese and Northwestern. They had 18 losses.

The 1993 team lost their series to Tennessee and Auburn. They lost midweeks to Northwestern and McNeese. They had 17 losses.

The 1996 team was swept by Florida. They lost to Northwestern twice in back to back games. They had 15 losses.

The 1997 team lost series to Miss State, Arkansas and Alabama. They also lost to Northeastern and UNO. They had 13 losses.

The 2000 team was swept by Houston and lost their series with Georgia and Miss State. Oh, they also lost to McNeese not once, but twice. They had 22 losses.

The 2009 team lost their series to Illinois and Tennessee and lost midweek games to Tulane and Nicholls. They had 17 losses.

Nobody has to tell you what all of these teams had in common.

It was a bad series, we had some bad breaks along with some questionable coaching decisions and some very lucky things to go the opponent's way. That's baseball. It's a long season. Boil some crawfish, drink some beer, and enjoy the next few months. But most of all, chill and let the season play out.

You know what else is baseball? Not burning your closer on Friday night for no goddamn reason and bunting in the bottom of the 11th in a tie ballgame with runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. That's fricking baseball and I'm gonna fricking bitch about it.

There are some weekends that just dont go your way. This is the third weekend in SEC play and its too early to judge where any team is at just yet, because the standings can and most likely will look alot different come the end of May. You have to build your team for that.

Honest question: how many of those Bertman era losses attributable to misusing pitchers and players having no freaking clue how to run bases? You can't go two games without a player getting doubled off a base or getting busted in an inexplicable stolen base attempt? On bad days, you can't go two innings without it.

Stoney Brook. Houston. Etc. There is just nothing that can be done when the baseball gods ignore you.

You can also tell the people who don't understand that this wasn't just a "that was just baseball" type of weekend.

I cant really tell what your trying to say but if you mean what i think you mean then i disagree. Baseball is a sport where any team can win on any given day much more so then basketball or whatever. Things happened that swayed the game away but it makes sense to say thats just baseball because thats the dynamic of the game.

Yes, I understand that even the best teams are going to average 2/3 on a weekend, but there is more urgency in college baseball. In MLB, you have to just make it in and everything is pretty much equal after that. History dictates that, especially in the Wild Card Era.

In college baseball, you can't afford to leave a ton of games you should have won on the table. If you do, you don't get that national seed and sometimes that makes all the difference. And before you play the Stony Brook/Houston card, how many times has LSU won or even made the CWS playing on the road?

When multiple decisions are made that go directly against proven tactics/percentages with no excuse for going against them and result in a loss as well as affect other games resulting in a loss, that's not "just baseball".

I agree, I don't understand people that don't understand that sometimes in baseball shite just happens

Yes, there were some bonehead coaching decisions (Stallings), and the umps behind the plate this weekend were HORRIBLE. But have some people seriously forgotten some of the crazy shite we saw this week?

3 inside the park home runs. The Laird one I'll give you, with his speed that was bound to happen sooner or later. But CHINEA? Did anybody ever think his first HR of the season would be and inside the park?

On the flip side, you had to know the baseball gods wouldn't let all that shite stand, so of course at some point we were going to have some sort of fluke go against us. That's the way the game goes. Yes it sucks being on the other side of the coin, but sometimes baseball is gonna baseball.

If you think this ends our season, just stop watching baseball now. It will make you miserable

LSU didn't seem to be completely prepared this weekend

Was thinking about these earlier. This may have been what this team needed. Of course you obviously never want to lose. But LSU sports teams seem to do their best when we're fighting for something and not defending cause of being at the top early. Lots of season left. They'll bounce back.
