Yes pitching was bad... but the lack of hitting concerns me

Obviously don't know Ore State strategy but they shut down our hitting. Probably wouldn't have won game any way but, we didn't seem to adjust. How many hits were there the whole game? The CF had a HR and a single. Anything else? Duplantis hit one good that the RF made a good catch on. Anything else?

Slow pitching that keeps the ball down is what wins in Omaha. It's why so many were excited to see Walker. Both starters we faced were this type of pitcher.

The tigers were just not into it. No fire at all.

That why there were so many pop-ups?

The SS, LF & RF almost had hits.

When Walker went out it seemed to hit them in the gut.

Actually, yes. Off balance swings with the bat slowing down. Equates to being late on fastballs in and reaching on offspeed away.

I couldn't remember CF last name.

I didn't see Robertson get close to a hit. Also didn't see Deichman get close.

Lack of hitting was definitely concerning, but that is overshadowed whenever the pitchers walk 12 in one game, the first 5 of 8 walks score, and 9 of 12 walks score.

His first AB, if not for Fehmel's ankle, he has a single to center.

He barreled one up to left center, but Kwan got a good jump on it.

Was no one watching Kramers last AB or something?

I don't think a lot of people actually watched the game, just got a score text alert.

I watched game until the grand slam. Changed channels then. I was already mad enough.

Team has struggled to hit good pitching all year. Only exception was Kentucky & Ark in SECT and State in Super Regional. Any explanation for why we hit those guys well but couldn't hit Ore State last night?

So you mean like every team in the country?

Oregon State has the best pitching staff in the country.

Do you know what "all year" means... or "Only"??

Because I don't think you do.

Everything flows together in baseball. The bad pitching lead to being down BIG, which lead to no confidence at the plate.

OP, do you have any idea what the Beavers' team ERA is? Mock the Pac 12 all you want, but that figure is incredible & had more to do with our lack of hitting than our batters struggling. They've hit some of the best pitchers in the league & throughout the regionals. Just consider that this guy last nite is their 3rd pitcher. Imagine what their ace, sicko or otherwise, throws.

I always love this response when it comes to baseball. What objective signs were there to show the team was "just not into it"?
