Hey guys,

About a year ago I made a my first post saying that I was planning to fulfill my dream of the past seven years of attending an LSU/Bama game. It took some effort to convince a bunch of my Big 10 buddies to make the commitment, but we're at a point where we're ready to start planning the specifics.

About us: We're a bunch of recent college grads aged 24-26. We are a pretty lively bunch that enjoys the full tailgating/college football experience (aka lots of booze). We all went to BGSU in Ohio.

Here's our questions: We want to get into the game. Should we buy tickets now? If not, when? We're not opposed to getting some outside the stadium if that's the best bet.

Concerning the tailgate: my one buddy has an uncle that lives in BR who might have a tailgate spot. We'll definitely be partying there, but I was wondering how acceptable it is to go around and mingle with other groups. (Keep in mind tailgating isn't very big at BGSU so this is new territory for us). We'd love to try some cajun food and get the full LSU experience. Can we just walk up with some beer and start socializing? Don't worry - we'll have plenty of beer.

That's my two questions for now. I'm open to any advice and pointers.

I can't wait to set foot in Tiger Stadium!

You'll have no problem.

They'll get better treatment wearing BGSU gear and being honest about the reason they're there, which is to experience game day at LSU.

And yes, walk around and enjoy more food and alcohol than you can handle.

Wear your team gear and be friendly

Tell every tent you see why your there and you'll be amazed by the hospitality.

Getting tix will be tough, very tough

Enjoy....your group will be blown away

That's what I was worried about. Should we try to buy them ahead of time on StubHub, or do you think it's smarter to buy some the day of the game?

This! This is what I do as I don't really know anybody that tailgates. When I get parked, I start mingling, eat good food, but drink my own alcohol. I have run out of alcohol before and got in on some good beer pong!

Buy tickets now. If both are undefeated when they play tickets will be very hard to come by. I think it is the most expensive ticket in NCAA right now and will only get higher. You will probably not be able to get a ticket on campus for under $800 a piece if you are even able to find one IMO.

It's not hard to get tickets. Question is, how much do they want to pay?

Picking up single here and there Gameday might be doable. But hanging your hat on getting several, let alone any together? I'd buy early.

Gump game tix are the hardest & most expensive to get...if you cant get tix, you can always sit at someone's tailgate and watch it on TV...remember, stadium holds just over 100K, and there will be close to 300K on campus that day tailgating...
Plan on having a lot of fun, food, and adult beverages!!!

IMO, I'd wait to buy tickets. Odds are, the way both teams are playing, each will have lost a game by then. That'll drive the prices down. Getting them outside the stadium is probably not the best route. I'd wait at least until mid-October. As a poster above said, if both are undefeated, it'll be real tough to get in, but the odds of that are certainly not probable. If you're comfortable with where prices are right now, go ahead and pull the trigger. But definitely don't wait until the day of the game. At least wait until Bama gets beat by A&M. Welcome to town and

If you want to buy LSU gear while in BR go ahead, but you'll probably get a better reaction and people coming up to y'all if you were your BGSU shirts.

All I have to say about getting tickets is bring a lot of money or get lucky.

Get tickets now. Scour the ticket exchange board. It will be hard to find tickets, especially if you wait until the last minute.

IMO, if Bama losses a game between now and then, the tickets will still be crazy expensive. More LSU will want to see us beat them up. Now if LSU has a loss then I could see that effecting it but not much. If they both have one loss, it will still be a super hot ticket.

If both teams are doing well, undefeated by then you won't get a ticket at the stadium. Right now that ticket is the most sought after in all of college football this season. Best to buy them now but yup will pay about $400 to 500 each.

Best of luck and welcome to the greatest experience in football.

What if we try to split off into pairs for the game? Is that more feasible? Definitely understand trying to find a large group is going to be hard.

I know my brother and I are dead-set on getting in. I'd be happy to pay anything $400 or less, but if it comes down to it I could fork over more.

Looks like the only tix in that range are in the upper chairbacks. Those worth picking up or should I gamble and hope to find a lower seat?

Brother, LSU has some of the most welcoming fans IN THE COUNTRY. I've literally gone to the tailgates without a single thing and left completely wasted. People give you food, alcohol, and a good time. I've offered money and you'll be shocked how often it's refused.
