I don't really care about which bowl, I'm more concerned about the matchup.

That said, Texas would've been my third choice. LSU at 8-4 would look like a mis-match against a 6-6 Texas. Arky at 6-6 is a much better matchup for Texas - and should kick their arse.

At 8-4, LSU looks like a better match with ND (7-5), Oklahoma (8-4) or Nebraska (9-3). So I'm happy with the matchup with Notre dame.

Generally for LSU, no. We've already played in Houston this year, and Notre Dame is the better team with just as big if not bigger name. Don't listen to Arkansas fans saying that the SEC put them there over us. Their delusion knows no bounds.

Personally, however, yes. Houston would have been easier for me to travel to, and I likely would have went had it been there. I just graduated and don't begin work until Jan 19th so I'm too low on cash to make it to Nashville. If I was working though, I would rather go to Nashville no doubt.

Hotels are rapidly being booked up completely according to a friend that is night manager of Hilton downtown.

I think LSU fans are going to travel here much better than people in Texas are saying. Nashville is close to a lot of cities with decent sized LSU alumni bases, Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham, etc. Its also 8 hours tops from Baton Rouge, 7 from Nola, if you want to drive and a quick and easy Southwest flight from Nola. Its a new place for us to play and its a great city for football games and fun after the game all within a few square miles.

Why does Arkansas go to much farther south bowl than us?

Because they shut us out? And does anyone want to see our offense in prime time - nope.

Notre Dame will bring a ton of fans. They always travel well.

Of the cities you mentioned, only Atlanta has an LSU alumni population even remotely close to what we have in Houston.

I hope that you're right. I could've made it to the Texas Bowl, but I'm not going to spend money on airfare/hotel to travel to Nashville. It's a great destination city, but the timing of the bowl and the cost keep it from being an option for me, as I think it will for many other Tiger fans.

I mentioned 3 cities. Combined I am sure we will have a solid turn out. Nashville is in a very central location for the Southeast, unlike anything in Texas.

Sorry you can't make it. I don't think most people will have the same issue and a lot of people look for a reason to visit Nashville for the reason you said.

Nationally, this is a much better game for LSU's program because of the opponent.

ETA:

Can also add Jackson, MS to that. Its only 5.5 hours away from Nashville. Not to mention its drivable for Tiger fans in Chicago and other areas up North.
