When aTm beats Bama, then you'll have a case. From what we've seen, that kind of offense won't work against Bama. It didn't work against us.

As it stands, Les Miles has the most success against Saban. And beating Saban is what will win this team a NC. Strong running game to set up the pass and strong D. That's the blueprint, not gimmmicky spread offense crap.

Most people think the blue print for beating Saban is a mobile QB.

The last 4 teams to beat them: USCe, LSU, Auburn, LSU all had a QB that could make a play with his feet.

Or put miles in the box up stairs and unplug his headset.bring krag and stud down to the field so we can actually see if they can actually call plays.we could have the right guys now it's just sad that we well will never know.

So let's get a mobile QB then. We have one coming in 2013, Anthony Jennings. Hope he pans out. I don't agree with changing the offensive blueprint though. We just need better execution and fewer injuries.

Oh, I agree, plus we don't have the personnel to run an offense like A&M. I'd be fine with a pro style offense. Trying to win every game 9-6 will not work.

I'd be elated but it takes a head coach giving up the reigns for him to be successful. Miles would make him look like a middle school coach.

Would Saban hire Kingsbury?

What exactly is gimmicky about a passing offense? They rule the NFL for a reason.. and they work against far better defenses than any we would ever see at this level.

That's not exactly true. NFL D's are of course more talented than college D's, but relative to other college teams, a D like Bama or LSU last year are better than the offense's they face on a week to week basis. The gap is bigger at this level. Also they have different rules that favor the O even more in the NFL.

You don't need Mike Leech's O. All you need is Norm Chow, the Miami O under Johnson and Erickson.

the same gap exists in the NFL.. look at the saints defense and compare it to the elite defenses of the NFL.

we just need an offense that can score 35ish points per game.. and that can get on teams early. no team in the country can hang with us if we jump on them early.

not even close.

aside from the fact that this year's Saint's D is statistically the worst D in NFL history thru 8 weeks and by definition an outlier. The gap between them and the Texans is still not as great as the gap between top 5-10 college D's and middle of the road O's, let alone truly bad ones talent wise.

We did that last year, but what we need is a passing game that doesn't look like it was designed Corky from Life Goes On. What Bama is doing this year would be just fine with me.

Only if Coach Miles let him have as much freedom to coach as he gives Chavis on defense.

Spread offense does not match up well against today's SEC defenses, who are extremely talented and deep on the D-line. There's a reason why most of the top HS QBs want nothing to do with the SEC. Why would they want to mess around with the ridiculous DL depth when they could pad stats in the Big East or Pac-12 and be #1 draft picks? Then they play an SEC team and get smashed.

We have the right offensive scheme. We just need fewer injuries and better execution.

There are different types of spread offenses, but if you enjoy a Les Miles offense then you're just a weird person. And where did all this talk of "gimmicky" start? My god it's idiotic and nonsensical.
