Would promoting Aranda followed by firing a young OC work?

If we don't get Herman or Fisher who calls their own plays, the OC will be the most important hire IMO

It's the only reasoning for keeping O at HC. The staff, stud recruiters, would stay in tact, he'd just have to find a stud OC and let him do his thing.

For me it would because to me Dave Aranda seems to have "it" and I think he'll likely be a star coach in a few years. If we don't get Herman or Jimbo or maybe Petrino then I'd just assume roll the dice. I think he has more potential than the Fedoras of the world.

fify. you mean hire a new OC and forget about Fisher, we don't need him. But I like the idea of promoting Aranda (or Ogeron) to HC and hiring a kick arse young hotshot OC. That is if we miss on Tom (not Dave the UFC fighter) Herman and some other great HC hire doesn't emerge.

So are we firing a young OC just to throw gas on the fire or is this a weird sacrificial thing?
