Would Coach O have had half of his support if we knew he wanted Dual Threat QBs?

I would have been very lukewarm on him if that was the case. The reason a lot of people were excited to run the last coach out of town was because we were finally using a QB to throw the ball and showing different wrinkles on offense.

I like how our offense started to look this year. Let's build on that.

Guice is our running back next year. We have very capable backs behind him. I hope we get many more in the future. Let them do the running!!!

Sorry, but I went from solidly pro-O to someone who is deeply concerned about next year.

The difference is Les wanted a dual threat qb to run a pro style offense. That isn't what O is trying to do.

I'm with you OP - I was under the impression that we would be implementing a pro style system like USC under O.

The smart fans didn't need the dual-threat QB thing to be doubtful of the O hire.

What the hell do yall want.

Most spread offenses are run by dual threat qbs.

The majority on the board have been clamoring for a spread offense. So O goes and starts trying to recruit qbs that typically run the spread and now yall still bitch

This is the paradox that is LSU! WTF do you think Tom Herman runs. This place all most crashed because we didn't hire Herman!

I said this two months ago that the LSU fanbase wants trendy up and comer Tom Herman but they don't want his offense...

Etling is plenty dual threat - he is a passer first who can run when needed. That is what LSU needs. A distributor who can make plays when called upon.

Lmao yes Etling did a great job running for his life against Bama.

I agree with you there!

I guess we just have to have confidence that Orgeron has a plan and that plan will work.

I guess I might have a little more confidence if a "convicted felon's name- Derek Pomnansky" wasn't on the "binder" plan that Orgeron has!

Have you been to any high school football games lately? Nearly every QB in high school is to some extent dual threat and in most cases a full blown dual threat. Bottom line is that the separation between DT and pro style QBs by rating organizations is pretty much moot at this point.

The O-line cost us the Bama game - Etling is still the ideal QB for LSU.

As always, there is plenty of blame to go around including that Etling got extremely rattled and looked like crap when he did have time for an easy pitch and catch.

Not saying he was not the right guy, but the offense was not nearly prime time this season against any opposing defense with a pulse.

I just thought for the first time in a while we have a big time qb committed and now it feels like we are chasing him off. We say we want dual threat and offers dual threat.

I feel like we did the same thing after mett. Coach cam did great with him then we tell him it's dual threat only.

I see why so many on here loved Miles.

If you want to be one of the big dogs again you go after the best and dont look back.

Small minded thinking schools worry about their one big fish, big dogs go after every big fish and let the rest weed it selve out.

Some of you young boys need to sit down with old Skip. The mentality needs to be we are winning championships with or without you.

well, you know, bama, Clemson, florida state, ohio state, auburn and many others have or have had dual threats that have won it all (or in bama's case will probably win the frickin' next 2 or 3).

I don't like it. it's boring. it puts way too much emphasis on one player. it's like high school. but it is what it is. UH or Louisville would be shite w/o their dual threat guy. it appears that college football does not have the personnel or coaching on defense to stop these guys.
