it looked like he and etling were developing some chemistry by the end of the year, culminating in that awesome bowl performance.

we have lots of talent, but you can't just make chemistry happen.

oh, well. water under the bridge. wish him well. he was a great tiger!

We will be fine with him going. I personally thought Chark had better chemistry with him from the get-go.

That rainbow TD Etling threw to Dupre in the corner of the endzone before halftime of the AtM game was a thing of beauty.

Not so much it was about developing chemistry as much as it was he was actually catching the football reliably.

I thank Dupre for his time here but its clear he didnt play up to his potential. He had more drops than any lsu wr i can remember. Worse than Lafell.

put him in an NFL weight and nutrition program, put him up to 205-210 at 6'4 with his skill set and speed, and he will be AJ Green 2.0. They will polish his route running and make him more consistent catching with his hands. Give him a couple years and he'll be a stud. Going later in the draft, around 3rd-5th round to a good team and he'll be a steal to get.

It's funny you used him as a comparison. Many say Dupre isn't ready for the NFL bc of his drops, but Lafell has had a very lengthy, and decent NFL career after the same problem plagued him.

I don't really have an opinion on him leaving early, just thought it was interesting that Lafell was your comparison when I was scrolling through. And as I said, he's done well for himself in the league. Hoping the same for Dupre.

I say he isnt ready for the nfl because he plays like 5'9 wr that leans in and out of his breaks while route running.
Lafell didnt have problems running routes and getting seperation. Lafell also sured up his hands his last years at lsu. Dupre has had drops for 3 years now. So much so that it was amazing to see him catch 7 balls against UL.

Surely he will get better coaching in the nfl and he has gotten a 2nd rd grade so good luck to him.

We all know he didnt get great wr coaching in hs.

Dupree finally looked like he wanted to compete in the Bowl game. The problem was always him. Not going to miss him IMO...

GTFO!!! AJ Green was a highly productive college player. He was taken #4 overall ahead of Patrick Peterson, Julio Jones and JJ Watt for good reason. Dupre isn't going to become AJ Green by putting on 10-15 pounds. He didn't do enough in college to earn "a couple years". There are plenty of 6'3 guys that can run 4.55.

Some team is going to get a great 5th round draft pick.

I think Chi will measure 6'2.5" at the combine.

Wish him the best!

I dont think he will last that long. The nfl has along history of thinking they cant draft really athletic players and turn them into great football players. Dupre should have a great showing at the combine.

You may be right. His physical attributes aren't very imposing and he had less than 500 yards receiving and a reputation of dropsies so I wouldn't be surprised if he is a 5th rounder. I would however, be surprised if he went 3rd or higher. I am reminded of Trev Faulk and Brady James. They were both highly rated out of high school and picked to play in the NFL. Trev came out his junior year after having a good Junior campaign and didn't get drafted. Brady was also a Junior that same year but decided to come out his senior year and was a high draft pick and the rest is history. My point is this. If you aren't going to be a first or second round draft pick, stay another year. LSU finally has a serviceable quarterback whom he can catch balls from and can use this to his advantage.
