Tom Ritter isn't incompetent. He's complicit.

i appreciate that, thank you. i took like a year off, traveled a little, hung out, but i did start posting some stuff on filmdrunk/uproxx a few weeks back. were trying to figure out some kind of deal now.
not sure if he posts here or not but the uproxx editor in chief is a huge LSU fan too. in fact he was telling me he just got season tickets for the first time this year.
other than that Ive just been working on a tv show that I wanna do.

The Peterson call was terrible and even after review with all the evidence, it was still allowed to stand. CBS, ESPN and other sports network commentators all were shocked. Then on Monday Mike Slive says "We won't comment on this". The media allows him to get away with it when they should have piled on and kept the story going. Instead, they just backed down. I never heard an explanation of the call and how they decided he was out of bounds.

The Auburn 2006 game was bad, but if Jamarcus had ever learned to lead a receiver there was an open field all the way to the end zone.

It almost kills my buzz when I'm having a good time at the tailgate and I see Tom Ritter on TV. That dude has screwed LSU so many times.

You talkin' the '09 Gator game? That was blatant. What should have been a six point game became ten because of it.

if it's any consolation, SEC refs don't just frick LSU for bama, they frick everyone.
theres this play (gfycat) against Auburn where the bama qb lunges into the pile on a sneak, the kind of play where every inch counts. the ref originally marks the spot with his left foot, then brings his right foot forward and moves his left back, thus giving bama three more inches and the first down.
and this play (gfycat) vs Ole Miss, on a 3rd and 10. the ref marks the play dead about a foot short, but then looks back to find the first down marker and spots the ball there instead ( close up here just in case it wasn't clear that he's literally measuring to see how far the ball needs to go to give bama the first down).

1. Tennessee 1959. Not giving Billy Cannon the 2 point conversion cost us another national championship. 2. Patrick Peterson's interception against Alabama. 3. Facemask USC 79.

With bama there's tons of examples like that

This. That one cost us the game and if we won we might be in the NC discussion as that season went on.

Another horrible no call was the late hit on Herb Tyler in the 1997 Florida game.

we would have been on our 35, down by 6 with 5:54 left. we could have easily taken a momentum swing like that, run the ball, run the clock down, and won. the winner isnt decided by us choosing who we "think" is gonna win, its by the kids on the field actually playing the game.
All of that may be true, but...who was our QB at the end of that game...who were we playing...what are that qbs stats vs that team...they were better than us that year and JL wasn't winning that game.
