Survive this season? Really doesnt seem like it unless he somehow gets this team into the tournament with a miracle SEC run.

We have lost to every decent team we've played so far...and I use decent pretty liberally here.

If we had a real Athletic Director he would be gone, but with Alleva you never know.

I don't think he survives. Also, Clarence Cesar should publicly apologize for being a bumbling fricktard by demanding we hire Jones.

He has gotten worse. We haven't been this bad since he has been here and we have considerable talent. I would think they would beat some of the teams they're losing to on talent alone and we're not even doing that. That's troubling.

If anybody listened to Clarence and they hired Jones because of it, then they are an even bigger fricktard than him, which is really saying something.

Dude just doesn't have an answer to the problems. It's pretty painful to watch.

That isn't the point. He was acting like he was speaking for basketball alumni and threatened to end the Alumni game (I know, I know, oh no not that!) if Jones wasn't hired. He should take fricking crow for not knowing shite.

Clarence Caesar is a little fish. The big fish is Collis Temple.

That's who got his boy back home to be the head coach of the LSU Tigers.

Isn't it more important that we hire someone that gives Collis unfettered access than it is that we get a good basketball coach?

He will probable start 0-2 in SEC.

If we keep playing like we're playing and Quarterman is allowed to throw the ball away and jack up fade away 25 footers at will, we'll do a lot worse than 0-3 to start SEC play.

There won't be any miracle run to the tournament, but Jones is probably safe. Hiring him in the first place was a sign that the admin doesn't really care about having a good basketball program. I doubt they'd suddenly change their priorities and fire him.

would someone please explain to me where the "be patient" crowd is today. i want to hear how a young, 7-5 team just needs time to turn things around. my first comment would be "you can't possibly be surprised by last night's result." it was completely predictable.

what i don't understand is that the last 3 seasons have mirrored jones' resume prior to lsu. yet, somehow he was supposed to "get it together" this season and be a coach he's never been before.

but this is really our own fault. we hired a coach who had never won a tourney game. we're getting what we deserve.

Clearly, which is why Jones likely won't be fired. LSU basketball died a long time ago and everybody with any influence over the situation seems OK with that.

this was my point from the time when he was a candidate. lsu aimed really, really super low.

but a bunch of rantards swore up and down that he could get the job done and now it's obvious they were completely wrong.

Unfortunately there seems to be some truth to this. I'm afraid that until the influence of Collis Temple and Dale Brown no longer hangs over the basketball program, this is what you get.
