Edited: most ranters don't bother to read posts before they start insulting to demonstrate how lofty their intellect is and how low yours is. Will we have one of those special gameplans or just tweak our normal MO - ground and pound on 1st and 2d down - pass on 3rd. passing game is mostly long passes. 2d and 3rd and short - double TE set hand to Fournette, etc etc etc.

original post - Not criticizing the coaching staff. they have their philosophy and it works pretty well. they have shown that they can come up with great game plans when they feel it's needed.

we all know miles does what he thinks he needs to do. we should go into this game expecting to win. so do we need special game planning or just do a good job of calling our plays and executing them? To be honest, I think we could win with this game plan.

If you knew that we would actually attack bama's weaknesses rather than try to just beat them with our strength, wouldn't you feel even more confident of emerging with the W?

bama fans our praying that miles will just do his thing, and try to ground and pound.

if you won'take the time to actually read the post, there is little point in taking the time to write a big insult.

No, I have a really bad feeling we'll overlook Bama for Arkansas.

So, it's your contention that the coaching staff doesn't prepare for opponents (e.g., no watching film, etc.)? I guess that would generally make their jobs easier.

every game has a gameplan. You may not like it, but every game has one.

man, I'm serious. you know from experience we are capable of just going in and trying not to turn the ball over and playing very conservatively. this is a gameplan. it's our regular game plan.

we do not normally attack the other team's weaknesses on offense. we do our own thing, and it works pretty well.

You've obviously never been around a football team. You gameplan every week from how you are going to block certain fronts the other team will run to what routes will be best against the coverage they like to run. It gets really in depth and complex every single week including cupcake games.

The latter - obviously take advantages of their tendencies and matchups, but we're not "down" - Bama is not "up" - this should be a fairly evenly matched game - if anything, we're better in most areas except defensive front 7 - and, WRs (ETA: and special teams) are perhaps a push. We're playing better on the OL and in the secondary (although that is probably closer than most LSU fans want to admit) - their DL is outstanding - but - despite injuries - our DL is starting to come alive, as is our passing game.

Assuming perfect health of both squads - purely objectively, we should be favored on a neutral field. I think a bunch of crazy gameplanning, beyond what an NFL team would do to adjust to an opponent would be counterproductive. We are who we are - we are a run first team that passes off the playaction. Ground control and efficient defense.

If we contain their impressive running game and do not give up big plays to Coker or in special teams - we should win the game - relatively comfortably. I mean, we don't turn the ball over and we don't trail in games. That tends to keep the pressure on the other team. I don't think Bama has the playmakers we do on offense and that should be the difference in this game.

do I have to remind you of the rematch in the national championship with Alabama? I don't remember any new wrinkles we through in there?

of course we had a game plan. but it wasn't tailor made.

Hell, do you guys watch the talking head gurus break down offensive plays? I notice you seldom see them do it with LSU. everybody raves about kiffin setting up plays and getting mismatches on receivers. WK did it to us last weekend.

there's a difference.

You are full of shite. Cam had a great game plan in 2013, attacking Alabama's secondary. It was working until our Stud coached offensive line faltered against the Tide’s line stunts & blitzes late in the game. Get out of here with that crap!

Is the offensive coordinator who put that game plan together still in Baton Rouge? GTFO with this shite.
