He's one of three finalist...

Sheldon Richardson
Kiko Alonso
TM

The fact that he didn't finish the season and made the final 3 is awesome. Either way, awesome year for Tyrann.

All 3 players had amazing rookie years. And honestly if either 1 of those 3 players won it, it wouldnt be a shock or a snub. All deserve it IMO.

If he would not have been injured, I think he had a legit shot at winning it. TM rated out as the #3 CB/NB in the entire NFL. #1 rushing DB in the league, #10 in pass coverage, and #7 against the run. He had an awesome year. Its amazing how many people doubted him at the nexl level, even lot of our own fans

Kiko started out great and was the clear front runner for the D- ROY. Never really slacked off tackles wise either. But the media just kinda started to go away from him.

And it went to Sheldon Richardson. And thats why I think he will win it. Ended the year playing the best out of all 3, and 1 of the best DL in the entire NFL. Hell he had more rushing TDs than Trent Richardson did .

I think Richardson wins it, but Kiko and TM are def deserving of it. Especially if TM didnt get hurt. If he finished the year playing like he did all year long, I would have no idea who to give it to. But since he got hurt I think its a 2 horse race now between Kiko and Sheldon Richardson.

Reid started for San Fransisco all year if I'm not mistaken? He racked up a fairly nice amount of tackles.

Kiko was top 3 in total tackles and had 4 ints. Richardson had 77 tackles as a DT. I'd bet on one of those two.

That being said. TM7 for life!

Kiko Alonso

Kiko had better numbers than Luke Kuechly and he is top 5 for defensive player of the year. He helped bring Buffalo from 22nd in defense last season to 10th this season. The Jets were already a top 10 defense last season.

I think Mathieu missing 3 games hurts him big time, but I also think that Mathieu being a finalist and Kenny Vaccaro not being one is a joke.

Saints defense was one of the worst defenses ever last season and ended this season at #4 with he and Lewis being the only real additions to the squad.

Mathieu got to play with 2 other pro bowlers in Arizona (Peterson and Abraham), with 3 guys who were alternates (Campbell, Dockett, Washington), and with one who should have been at the pro bowl (Dansby).

You think the Saints' D went up in the rankings because Lewis and Vaccaro were the only two additions? No...Ryan was the reason.

Now if you want to talk about a joke, Eric Reid made the Pro Bowl and isn't a finalist.

I think it would have been tough to beat out Kiko had TM not gotten injured. With the injury, I think it goes to Kiko.

The Sunday Media has officially caught the "Honey Badger Love Bug". The speed at which Tyrann's mind has been conditioned to react to things and his seemingly machine like performance and great tackling technique has opened many eyes it seems.

It's great that he is on top even though facing the worst of adversities with that injury. I am sure that his teammates and that staff are all supporting him very well but the biggest support system that has brought TM to that org (The Petersons) must be getting mad props from the staff for recommending to draft him. PP7 and TM are going to be great together for a good while. Hopefully they will pick up another great Tiger or two going forward because that org looks like a happy place to be IMO.
