Will the 2015 D rival the 2011 D?

If Hunter, Kwon and Mills return, it will be very 2011ish.

2011 LSU and Alabama D were like once in a decade type defenses....next year could be very good but I dont think on that level. More like a 2010 type defense.

This was more 2010. Stout pass defense with a questionable run defense that while solid still gave up big plays and yards.

I'd be more worried about losing Collins than Mills.

But otherwise, yes, getting back Hunter, Kwon and Rasco and others would be huge and could have us looking at a ridiculously stout defense.

I'm curious to see how the new rule on number of guys who can get draft grades affects our losses going forward.

No chance all 3 stay. I think we'll be ok at LB if Kwon goes we have some young hungry talent. Hunter would be a big loss as he turned it on big the second half of the season.

But Jamal Adams = honey badger
And I think Beckwith is a better LB than we had in 2011. Our DLINE won't be near as good though IMO.

I'd never expect a defense to be as good as 2011.

No where near the same pass rush. Hunter hasn't gotten to the QB like same or mingo

No. 2011 was unreal. My brain won't let me believe that next year's D will be on that level.

Hunter, Alexander, Mills and at least Collins will all leave early from the D. That's 4 starters plus Rasco and Martin.

Going to be a talented, but young D next year.

Hunter and Alexander would have to come back. Probably Collins too. Then you'd have to find an impactful DE that can get to the QB. Both Ends this year got much better as the season went along, but I wouldn't consider them great pass rushers like Montgomery and even Mingo from that 2011 squad

Not even close.

And light years away on the super aggressive turnover front

Unless someone knows something I don't, I see Kwon back next year. Needs another year in the weight room to continue to get bigger to be ready for the NFL. The speed and football instincts are there though. It has been fun watching him turn into a super football player the past three years. If he does go pro, he owes half of first check to Coach Chavis. Chavis coached him up and Kwon obviously listened.

If all three of those guys leave, but Rashard comes back, we will be great. Hunter and Rasco will be ably replaced by Bower, Clark, and Neal. And the DTs are dominating. Gilmore and Bain are starting to play well behing Lacouture and Godchaux. and Valentine might be a contributor.

The LBs will be very good with Beckwith, Debo and Louis.

What I like the most about this defense is that we have All SEC type talent at every level - Godchaux on the line, Beckwith at LB, and Adams and Tre in the secondary.
