Miles will not mention it, but he has to know this is his last chance at getting it right....

smart people hire well and allow the others to rise thus they get elevated at the same time.

Let's see how smart Miles really is.

Ed Orgeron said he hasn’t spoken to Miles or anyone from LSU, but he wouldn’t turn the opportunity down if his phone rang.

If this is the quote you are referring to, this is fairly non-committal and seems to be talking about the DC job. Are you seriously saying you want him for DC? Line coach yes...but DC?

Verge Ausberry (sp)

He's in the Athletic Department Associate Athletic Director or something like that.

I'm guessing you don't read any S Louisiana newspapers.

I haven't in the last couple of days...true. I am in Gump land and it is a bit harder.

after reports came out that he was going with Co-OCs Monken and Applewhite, yes
And you took this one rumor and ran with it as if it was fact. That because of Miles' ego this is what he would do. You couldn't have been more wrong. Miles hired a proven Offensive Coordinator and produced the best offense in LSU history. Now you're doing the same thing here, and you'll be wrong again.

What you're likely doing is just hedging your bets that Orgeron will end up somewhere other than LSU for his own personal reasons so you can claim it was Les' ego that drove him away.

the fact that rantards are to this day defending DiNardo hiring McConnell over Rich Rod says all you need to know.
The hiring of McConnell over Rich Rod was mostly irrelevant. Letting Morris Watts go and Tepper stay had already sealed Gerry's fate. He could have hired Steve Spurrier as his OC and we still would have sucked in '99 and he still would have been fired.

Remember the MSU game when the TV crew showed McConnell in the press box - with no headset on- while Dinardo was on the sidelines with a headset? While we were on offense!

+1

And don't try that "are you unable to read" bullshite. The article where O is talking about the LSU job is referring to DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR, not DL coach/recruiting head.

If Ogeron would take the DL position, as opposed to the DC position, and Miles didn't pursue this, then I'm afraid Miles may truly be the dolt the national media has made him out to be.

it was reported as fact. I'm sorry that Tigerbait.com has turned into a joke, not really my fault though.

What you're likely doing is blindly accepting everything LSU or Les Miles does because you are too stupid and spineless to have an original thought or take a position on anything without first finding out how Miles feels on it.

That was just a symptom of the illness of the man.

Maybe Watts could read the Tea Leaves and knew the ship was headed for and iceberg. His official reason was that he only needed a few more years in the Michigan educational system to draw a good pension when he retired. He was close to retirement age.
