Nope its 4. Ben is at 69.7 and of those Epps and Sampson have a combined 32 attempts so you can toss those %s out.

Keep pumpin sunshine all you want but we are atrocious as a team at FT %. That isnt an opinion or even arguable.

Your top 3 guys in attempts are shooting 64%, 69%, and 53%

And bens 69% is going to go down even more after tonight.

Who's fault is it our players suck at FTs?

Except that coaches have limited time with their players. Simmons is a pretty good free throw shooter for his position, and was shite tonight.

Blakeny and Hornsby are great FT shooters who have struggled the last few games. That has nothing to do with their hard work.

How was it his fault that his PG's kept turning the ball over?

He kept them in the game and didnt turn it over to Simmons. This has been a major issue throughout Jones' tenure. He rarely rarely sits guys who are playing poorly, whether it's jacking up bad shots or playing lazy, he either waits too long to put them on the bench or keeps putting them out there when they're clearly struggling.

Who's job is it to instill disciplined play? What do they do in practice? Why is it that he is ok with almost everyone of his players bringing up the ball to run helter skelter down the court and get into bad positions, which lead to turnovers?

I am constantly amazed how people think the players just roll out there and play, and if they f up it is because they had a bad night. It is almost ALWAYS on a coach if a team is inconsistent!

Nope - he is not a great bench coach- he is a great recruiter (see CLM in football)

At least CLM has won some championships

When the camera is on him he leaves the impression of a coach with no answers. I hardly see him coaching when the ball is in play.

People that consistently blame the players for nights like last night are the fans that just started tuning in to watch Ben Simmons.

It doesn't matter if Andrew del Piero was coming off the bench, if Martin and Mickey were playing down low or if Simmons is starting--Jones' team's lack discipline, shot selection, point guard play, and defense, regardless of the talent.

The talent level is better this year, but the same problems we saw in Jones' first year are still plaguing LSU.

Unfortunately you get what you get with JJ...but I will say that LSU basketball is better today than it was 5 years ago...regardless of the reasons.

Yes, many of the issues above could be improved with better coaching....but I'm always amused when people bring up free throws in the same conversation as coaching...making and missing shots (whether it's an open 3 pointer or a free throw) has very little to do with coaching.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read in my life. You've obviously never coached if you think FT% is discipline. FT% is an individual deal. It's up to the player.

CJJ sucks, can't teach team to shoot FTs - which is laughable.

LSU shoots 79% FTs in a win against current Top 15 opponent. Now FTs are on the players.

Victor goes from shooting 40% in his first 8 games to 81% in his last 8 games. Who's to blame?

(not directed at oauron, just the dumb dumbs that change their argument at their choosing)

Free throws are about routine and repition. It's pretty simple if you get a good routine going. My highschool coach would regularly knock down 30 in a row to prove this point. Muscle memory is a hell of a thing
