What other team should have done better?

2007 was his first year
2008 had 23 game winning streak and made the CWS.
2009 won title
2010 lost to UCLA
2011 missed tourney
2012 Stony Brook'ed

2007 Smoked
2008 Excellent Year Considering '02-'06/CWS 1-2
2009 NCAA CHAMPIONS!!!!
2010 Renaudo Injury and Ott Meltdown Doomed the Team
2011 See Admitted Recruiting Complacency in Summer/Fall/Spring/Summer/Fall '09-'10
2012 See Recruiting Complacency/Rain/Hitting/Stonybrook
2013 See Mostly 0 for Bregman/Rhymes/Ibarra/DP's/CWS 0-2

Just my thoughts on the CPM era so far. Despite the Omaha performance the team played hard all year and that's what you want from them.

I definitely think this is a turning point for CPM. You can't say 'you can't go to Omaha regularly' given UNC/UCLA/USCe. LSU needs to be in Omaha at least 3/5 years or better on average. No excuses for not bringing in front line talent on the mound and in the field given the program's history, baseball facilities/stadium, and other athletic facilities. You have arguably one of the best pitching coaches in the NCAA.

The draft has become more college friendly - despite the timing - with the slot caps that will likely lead more high school talent to college. No excuses for not having top recruiting classes year in and year out.

Plus, if Laird and especially Stevenson can improve at the plate we could have the best all around outfield in the NCAA. I'm no scout, but I smell future greatness for Mark Laird. He has a sweet swing, a vacuum cleaner in the outfield, is staring at 15+ bunt/infield singles a year for him; and he showed up big in the Supers and CWS when it counted. He could end up a first rounder in 2 years if his arm catches up to the rest of his skill set.

Not to mention Nola/Glenn/Newman/Reynolds(fingers crossed) in the rotation. Sprinkle in what looks to be a top 5 incoming FR class and I see another 2009 type team next year.

Just my thoughts.

get pissed beyond all consolation when LSU doesn't win the National Title every year.

this would happen in every major sport if LSU basketball didn't suck (even though they are about to get really good.)

its a huge deal in football and baseball.

I'll just say not yet. Getting to Omaha would be considered a success and something to build on. Goals for next year should be a repeat trip and get to the finals. Not going to bash you like some of these whiny losers.

No doubt. I heard Nick Saban expressed interest in coaching the team.

In 2013 there were 298 Div.1 programs and 290 of them watched the CWS on TV. Horrible post.
