I understand that the meteorologists are typically wrong, but didn't Alleva and CLM know that this was a possibility. How hard would it have been to move the game time up to 2 or 3

That shite literally came out if nowhere.

Luckily I had a friend in the east tiger den suites that managed to get me a pass. We just drank and watched the other games until it was called.

How would you have felt if you had had tickets and couldn't make the game with a LAST MINUTE schedule change. ?? There has not been a rain out once a game has been started since 1918??? At least that is what an article I read today said.

We are all upset and trying to blame someone. Just hope the boys can pull off a win on the road against #25 Miss St

Predicting the weather isn't an exact science. You just read the patterns and make your best educated guess.

I'd rather watch a half than not watching anything at all. Last night was a major fail

Ever since the national weather bureau got "the fastest computer system on earth" several years ago, the forecasts have been dreadful.

Like most people, I was watching the weather channel ap most of the week. Yesterday morning there was a 40% chance of rain for around 4PM for Baton Rouge. After that...went down to almost nothing.

After reading that, I was so unconcerned that I left my rain jacket in the truck before heading to the stadium around lunch. Up until lightning hit off in the distance, it was barely even cloudy.

Unless they were all privy to some super secret weather tech the rest of us are not, I'm guessing no one else saw it coming that late either.

I know that you are begging for some attention, but this is worst than your usual drivel.

Wow. I just spoke to a local meteorologist in BR He said that they got it wrong. They thought that the storm would be gone by Dusk, but it intensified

Please be truthful and ask the question truthfully. If the game was at two, would you have been here begging to know why the game wasn't at 7pm and how you missed out on the magic of night games at lsu?

there was a 30% chance of rain at 8pm than it said it would clear after that, no-one thought it would take 3 hours to have the weather clear out.

There have been a lot of stupid posts on this board today. This one included.

So meteorologists don't know what the weather is going to be, but coach Miles and the athletic director should know that there is going to be a fricking lightning storm right after the game starts ????

If it makes you feel better, I have heard Les carries a beetle in an old match box that he got from Granny years ago. The beetle must have been under the weather or was having an off day.

If they had moved the game up and then the rain missed, I could only imagine the state of this place

Rain was not and will not ever be the issue. It was lightning and even if severe weather is accurately predicted , I'm not sure that lightning "predictions" can even exist other than to say it won't strike twice in the same place hahahaha

I see these conversations keep centering around the weather related safety issues. My bigger safety concern would be for players warming up and then enduring a delay of 30 minutes then warming up then enduring a delay of 30 minutes. Warming up and cooling off and then warming up and cooling off and then playing on a wet field sounds like an invitation to injury.
