Translate that one for me, please.

So then there were 2 examples. A 3rd thing you were wrong about.
You were talking about passing yards per game.

Dude, are you simple? I said he didn't throw for 250 yards. He did. That counts as ONE! Just ONE! incorrect statement. Just because he did it twice doesn't make me wrong twice!

Let me try to make this as simple as possible for you: If I say Jack never climbed Mt Everest, but he did, and twice, how many times was I wrong there? Just once.

If I say Jack never climbed Mt Everest or Mt Shasta, and he climbed both, how many times was I wrong? TWICE!!!

Are we on track now, Birdy Birdman? You are giving a bad name to Cash Money Records, btw.

I can't wait either! What are the odds of an LSU neutral site game being played in the regular season, and one of such epic proportions! This is a once in a lifetime event, my friend.

Well then Texan, in this case we'd all agree you're completely right.
Except for the two times you were wrong.

For three years, I've watched this guy struggle. He is only good in four down territory where passing the ball is our only option (Tennessee, Florida 2010). You put him in a situation where he has to mix the run with the pass, he is mediocre at best.

I haven't watched one fall practice, and I already know Mettenberger is better. Is Miles showing Lee love because he is a senior? Is Mettenberger injured? Help me out here...

Late to this party, but CLM would be insane to start Mett over Lee. Though Lee has had struggles and seems to still have tendencies that concern us all, he's shown that he can produce on the big stage. We just need him to do it consistently (we were in much the same boat with JJ).

And if you care to read my posting history, I'm not one of his fanboys. But he's stuck it out with us, shown great character, and may, in the end, be the glue that holds this team together.

Let's pull for him. In spite of everyone saying how lucky he is, it's a double-edged sword. Since he's the starter, he's no longer the most popular man in Baton Rouge, and the pressure is on. And this happened relatively unexpectedly.

The best LSU QB has always been the backup.

Guess miles felt Lee was deserving and been around for a while. Good news is at least we have a pretty dam good backup that could possibly be the starter if Lee can't perform. Short leash on our starter this season since our future is right behind him.

Pete, if you think Mett was the best QB on the team, then why was he not the original starter to begin with? Then we would all be complaining that our 2nd string QB is suspended right now.

I will support whomever CLM decides is our QB, and at this point, since hopefully he HAS watched all the fall practices, CLM has named Lee starter. Lee was never given enough time on the field last year to adapt his style of balanced offense with the rest of the team. Unfortunately the offense had two modes. One was designed primarily around a running QB situation(JJ), and one around a passing QB situation (JL). trying to run a balanced offense while JL was in was foreign to the players which resulted in less than impressive play. I am not sure if this a coaching issue, player issue or both. Regardless , it was what we had last year.

Hopefully we may have time to get the team to adapt to a balanced offense with Mett or Lee and we will be successful. I honestly don't care who is QB as long as we are winning.

I would not say one QB is "obviously" better than the other based on seeing them against limited playing time or juco competition. Now if they said Brees still had a year of eligibility and was coming to play at LSU, then yes, he us obviously better than Lee, but at this point that ain't happening.

Largest flaw in your argument. You're basically saying Lee excels when the defense knows EXACTLY what we're going to do, but he struggles when the defense has to respect the pass AND the run? He's not a mobile QB, so I assume you're saying he has issues with handing the ball off. By your logic, we should just line up 5 wide the entire game and let J. Lee shred Oregon's defense to pieces, impressive stable of running backs be damned.

You have a real negativity complex dude.

Let's break down JLee's time at LSU.

2008-forced into almost immediate playing time...he had the reps, but no coaching. Still had a great season (minus the pick 6 category--which is all your negative eyes will see).

2009-no reps, no coaching (ZERO pick 6's)

2010-minimal reps to start the season, developing to moderate reps by season's end, STILL no coaching, and he made some big plays for us...also, ZERO pick 6's.

2011-experience, FINALLY some coaching, and now getting the starter share of the reps...it may take him a week or 2 to get into a rhythm, but given the situation, it is STILL better than the following...

2009-groped the wrong girl, kicked off team...no snaps.

2010-took a JUCO to a national championship appearance..which is good, but it's still JUCO.

2011-continue to learn the offense and prepare to play in an emergency situation.

Which one would you choose?
