Per ESPN
Just curious on your opinions on why they would be suspended for something that can be purchased over the counter?

It's banned by the NCAA and is illegal in Louisiana. That being said, fricking caffeine is banned by the NCAA. It's a joke IMO.

This really makes no sense. If they smoked a legal product, I don't know how you could suspend them.

On November 24, 2010, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency announced it would use emergency powers to ban fake pot within a month .[3] Prior to the announcement, several US states had already made them illegal under state law. As of March 1, 2011, five cannabinoids, JWH-018, JWH-073, CP-47,497, JWH-200, and cannabicyclohexanol are now illegal in the US.[4]

The formula is constantly being changed to by pass the law. I know for a fact that it can still be purchased.

Should have clarified that this was medicinal marijuana to deal with the aches and pains arising out of playing a violent game violently.

They broke team rules. How hard is it to follow rules?

I'm not sure what it's being marketed as now, but it's still available

That stuff takes you on a bad trip

Every time it gets banned the companies switch out the illegal chemicals for other ones and they'll have legal ones on the market in under 2 weeks

So is it safe to assume they didn't fail a drug test, but we're suspended for smoking incense; which was a violation of team rules?

Fake pot was made illegal a long time ago(a couple years maybe) but the makers found a way around it and sold it under a different formula. And now a few months ago they banned it completely, leaving no room for manufacturers to get around it.

It is much worse for u than real pot tho.

The current ones are. You can't ban incense or inert herbs. The chemicals keep changing.

People are going to have vices. Marijuana prohibition should have ended years ago.

Maybe you should let the local gas stations know that

It isn't against the law to fail a drug test. In fact, in many cases it isn't illegal to be high. However, it is illegal to sell, purchase, or have drugs, or paraphernalia, in your possession. Regardless, they were using an illegal substance, and that is an NCAA violation. Accepting money from a booster is not against the law, but it is an NCAA violation.

I personally could care less if someone wants to smoke pot - that's their decision. But currently it's illegal, and if you choose to do so and get caught you have to face the consequences.

What bothers me the most is the fact that this team had the chance to do something really special. And even though all is not lost - TM was one of if not the best defensive player in the nation. And it's hard to think that losing him will not adversely affect this team.
