Pitch by committee vs a depleted FL or Arky staff, let Lange win it for you on Sunday. It's a risk, but why not roll the dice?

More rest for regional and super regional to keep him at a good pace. Don't want him on short rest next week.

What if you don't make the final?

We're planning to pitch him in Game 2 of the regional next Saturday, and we want to give him a full 6 days rest.

Top priority is when they want him to pitch next week. They want him to have a full week's rest.

Why not let coach make that decision? I mean, he's won a few games this season.

If we win tomorrow and pitch Poche on Sunday, does Bain start game 1 of the regional?

It's looking like that regardless IMO.

Win first two games and you have wiggle room for double elim Sunday.

ETA: Refereing to regional setup.

Probably either Bain or Reynolds for game 1, and Poche for game 3.

I think these guys have covered it. Game 2 (aka "Marble Game") of the Regional is top priority and you want him on full rest and ready for it. Second, you want to make it to the championship game of the tourney and you would look pretty stupid as a coach if you got bounced and went home with your best pitcher not taking the mound once.

What a dumb question?
He wants him with a full week rest for regionals and I doubt he goes over 100 pitches

In the grand scheme of things losing on Sat is not a bad thing. This tournament, although awesome to win, means nothing and Vandy proved that last year while LSU couldn't get out of their own regional

How is game 2 of the Regional, a game that does not send you through to the Supers, the game for "all the marbles"?

I agree that it is tempting, but next week and making the final this week are more important than winning on this Sunday.

Regardless of who we play you have to think that their staff will be depleted by Sunday and hopefully Poche can give us four solid innings, then the bullpen can take over. I have faith that Norman and Godfrey will come up with a couple of solid innings of work...
