Why not play 2 9 inning games?

Time is not a factor. Weather is going to be great. 7 inning games don't belong in college baseball. If LSU loses one of these games by 1 run I will be pissed.
Is Tulane and air force playing two 7 inning games?

With noon being a 7 inning game, there will be a gap before the 4:00 game so everyone can run home and watch the basketball game.

They almost always play 7 inning games for DH. I think its to go easy on the bullpens.

Stupid logic. The guys who throw more than an inning on a regular Friday probably aren't throwing Saturday anyway.
If your BP cant handle a double header you are probably in trouble.

It's not an exhibition at all. These games count. They could hurt our RPI.

SEC series, once upon a time and for many moons, were Fri night openers and DH Saturdays -- 7 innings per pop. Call today regression; call it fate; call it luck; call it karma. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that we were destined to play 7 inning games.

Hey Mainieri, quit scheduling two different teams to come into town the same weekend. Nobody else in college baseball does that Mickey Mouse shite. So instead of playing 27 innings this weekend and using a full bullpen to get some live action, LSU is only going to plaly 23 innings.

opening weekend pretty much all pitchers are on a pitch count to stretch them out before going full bore.

actually, several warm weather teams do this early in the year.
