It will come down to the qb. We need Mettenberger to at least be about 50% of what the rantards think he'll be. I think he'll be ok there.
We also need him to stay healthy since we have an inexperienced project as a backup. This one is tougher to predict.

We got to the BCSNCG with JJ and JL as quarterbacks.
The answer to the OP:
1. Injuries to the offensive line lead to a reduced running game
2. Injuries on defense force our team into shootouts
3. We lose to Alabama or Arkansas
4. ESPN Hates LSU and lobbies for undefeated USC and (insert Big 10/12 team) to be in the game over LSU
5. 21 December, 2012

Neither was great, but I'll take a senior back-up over our back-ups this year.

Turn overs at key times in key games.
Kinda like with Fla in 06.
Also, lots of pressure/expectations put on the back of a QB who hasn't faced an SEC D as "the man" and who hasn't started a game vs. a FBS team in his life.

We have no reason to think we won't be there. We're better at every position. Yes, including cornerback (overall).

The answer is pure statistics. The odds are heavy against teams running the table and playing for a national title two years In a row. And, LSU has had how many unbeaten seasons ever?
I for one think we don't make it. Sucks but I just don't see us capturing lightning in a bottle two yeas straight.

Zach, while on a synthetic marijuana high, kicks some guy in the head then gropes his girlfriend at a bar. Rivers hands ball off 50 times a game resulting in a 11-2 record.

Why LSU won't make it ti the BCS NCG?

Because he definitely screwed up the road to the BCSNCG last season.

Might not, but we will have plenty of thunder in it!!

quote:No the road to the BCS NCG game was fine, it was the actual BCS NCG where he completely shite the bed. The fact that he somehow didn't screw up in the regular season as he has always done was amazing. But I just had a feeling it was too good to be true and the real Les would shine through, and unfortunately he did. I am fairly certain Les will find a way this year to blow what should be a national championship season, AGAIN. Hope I'm wrong.

Miles petitions and proves to the NCAA his Man Love for JJ and gets him another year of eligibility and he becomes the starter day one!!

some aliens will come to earth trying to take the Looney Toons captive, but Bugs Bunny will trick them by allowing their capture if and only if the aliens beat the Looney Toons in a game of bas....football. Thing is, the tallest alien of the bunch is a solid 2'7", so therein lies a problem for the aliens. Only thing is, these aliens summon and steal the talents of the LSU football team of 2012, making the aliens the greatest football team in the universe.
Holy shite this should so be made into a movie,

Yes, I hope Les keeps screwing up. I kinda like 13 and 1 seasons.

Points:
-Relative inexperience at LB
-Inability to find 3rd corner so we can let Mathieu roam the field
-First year starter at QB
-No WR to stretch the field
Counter points:
-Barrow, Minter, Jones are not returning starters but all have PT at LB
-Collins comes on at CB, or one of the freshmen (Thomas, Raymond)
-Mett looks really good
-Landry, Shep, and Avery Johnson will stretch the field
