I get your point, it just is negated by fact.

the 9 in the box have to defend the entire box, while the blockers know where the play is going. When there is less than 3 yards gained on any given run play, blockers are getting beat or the running back is choosing the wrong hole.

Call it complaining but that run it down your throat only works if the passing game is working to some degree.

Lies, damn lies
16 pass attempts 1st half not counting plays with sack or scrambles resulted in 10pts and an Int.
Only 3/8 on 3rd downs.

With only 4 attempts in 2nd half results in 21pts, no TOs.
Respectable 4/6 on 3rd conversions.

well that's one of the reasons Miles hired Cam. Their offense philosophys are similar. Cam was running the Miles/Cam offense up in Baltimore till they let him go.

Exactly the 8 blockers(5 OL, 2 TEs and, FB)are not assigned to block everyone in "the box". The play calling in my opinion was to test the blockers. For some reason even though all of the current blockers played fairly well last season, they aren't getting it done this year. It is perplexing because these are veteran players. Seniors, juniors, and a couple of sophomores. We are not young at these spots.

The coaches see this. Look at the RBs yard per carry averages vs last years group of RBs. I realize Mett had something to do with this.

but if you move one of the blockers outside, one of the defenders has to go with him, effectively taking him out the play without even having to block him. More space gives more space for runners to run in or hopefully through. It's why you don't see teams in the NFL running this kind of offense or teams in college(other than LSU) running it either. It's not that we run to often or that we have a fullback on the field, it's that we bunch up and telegraph it. If you just turned on the TV and saw the D and O lined up(and weren't use to watching LSU) you would think it MUST be 3rd or 4th down and 1 foot instead of 1st and ten.

I can always count on reading the rant whenever I feel the need to become dumber.
