This. Also add Hickey unfortunately. Bass shouldn't have been in the game in the last few minutes because he is such a liability on the free throw line. This was a gamble on Trent's part which backfired as Georgia played hack a Bass.

i doubt bass is working too hard at FT shooting. it's a simple matter of learning proper form and repetition. guards should be able to hit 80% minimum

too late for bass, but trent needs to send hickey to eddie p as soon as the season ends for an education

Just to show the absolute stupidity of this statement, I went to Yahoo NBA stats, clicked on the first team listed (Boston Celtics) and found that 3 out of 7 guards on the roster shoot better than 80 percent from the FT line. Only 5 total players on the roster were at 80 or more.

The Nets only have 4 people on their roster at 80 percent or more.

link is NCAA free throw average, by team.

LSU is tied with 4 others for 97th place thru 101st.

LSU is the 100th best free throw shooting team.

There are 3 dozen WHOLE TEAMS that shoot better than any LSU regular.
lets put things in perspective here though. a lot of the teams ahead of us are full of unathletic white boys who do nothing well other than shoot free throws.

this was the first thing I thought of.

<--wascist!

I do think Hickey is hurting us because you expect a guard to be a better FT shooter than that.

The obvious point has already been beaten to death -- LSU had two huge liabilities on the floor late last night (Bass/White) and TJ admitted it was basically misplayed by him.

Without looking up stats, I call bullshite on this. No way those dudes shoot 60% from anywhere on the floor, and they damn sure don't from the line.

yeah, i thought Joe Dean Jr said when White hit 1 of 2 FTs at one point that it actually *improved* his FT%.

Couldn't help myself

04 BASS, Chris........ 9-24 .375 %

05 WHITE, Malcolm..... 11-26 .423 %

So to the guy that said "they work on it and they shoot close to 60%", you're an idiot. And on top of that, you said the 80% thing as well.
