Just give me an offense that can occasionally make a defense pay for playing 9 men in the box in an attempt to stop our all world running back.

But there's the issue- We can sometimes even see 10 in the box & yet Miles will still run right up the middle. Never could understand why he can't just use little 5-10 yard passes over the middle to force other teams to pull back their LB's.

Well Texas Tech had the #1 offense and came out of that same conference, yet LSU looked better on O when they played.

omg, there are going to be some posters that will hate you for this.

miles biggest problem isn't his being stubborn, his biggest problem is not having a reliable passing game. think about what has happened after his NC. a lot of poor coaching hires. STUD as OC? sheeeeet. he fell way off on recruiting too. Chavis was a great coach but he and Haley let the front 7 deteriate. and, of course, our qb problems.

imo, les miles and his staff got pretty complacent after 2007 and didn't have another championship caliber team until 2011, 4 years later.

his "stubbornness" is a relatively new criticism. he was once the mad hatter.

Jesus, I'm sick of you stupid motherfrickers! Les Miles has radically changed the offense in the last two years. We run out of the shotgun now; we run read option. What idiots like you really mean by "change the offense" is "gain more yards and score more touchdowns". And if you were lucid enough to say so I could agree with you.

LF7.

Oh wait...let's put it into the hands of Brandon Harris while limiting a Heisman favorite's touches.

FYI. The offense has changed atleast 3 times since Miles has been here. Anyone with an average football IQ can see this.

I agree.

With Jimbo and year 1 and 2 of Crowton we were balanced.
With Crowton year 3 and 4 we only passed a little.
With Stud and Cam (minus 1 year) we only use the passing game to stretch our legs during pregame warmups.

It's not an OC decision or playbook issue. Miles offense is fine as long as he had a QB who is good. If not, you see a low risk boring offense that does just enough to win most games.

No. His mindset is more like Saban. Good d and ST's with ball control mistake free offense. When u aren't as expericed u open it up like lane did with Blake at qb. Last year they played it safer. Imo as good as our d will be maybe miles will be ok with his style and LF and DG back there. Last year he shoudve opened up more. I do hope he opens up more though

Teams that focus on a spread attack are largely counting on their star QB to not get hurt. It can be glorious when he's fine, not so much when he's knocked out the first game of the season. There are more than a few good spread offenses that would suddenly suck if that happened.

LSU isn't so dependent on luck. Fournette gets hurt? Sucks for him, but there's a guy named Guice who's pretty good and would start anywhere else. And with a strong line to start with, Delahoussaye could carry the rock and be productive.

And what should be a damn strong defense. More reasons to not be too agressive throwing. Last year on the other hand les should've opened it up because we all could see the defense wouldn't be dominant. It's one thing if your D is holding ppl to 10-13 ppg. But if u have a mediocre D Imo u should be more aggressive and score points.

He's afraid of being blamed if he makes changes and loses because he made changes. That's understandable.

it is true. Really towards the end, almost at the end, of the 2014 season LSU started adding new wrinkles to the offense. Some misdirection, more shotgun, and 3 WR sets, run read options, etc, all started occurring more at the end of 2014. A lot of fans just didn't notice how different it was due to limitations of the QB position during 2015 season. They are going to notice it this year as we "gain more yards and score more touchdowns". I think we see more passing plays, , even on 1st down, this season as well.
