YOU are wrong.

The banner under the press box actually read,

WELCOME TO DEAF VALLEY

I feel sorry for the guy. Every frat on old-row forced their pledges to shoplift from him. Same with the A&P.

I don't remember us doing any of that. He was a crusty old fart but he took good care of us. He reminded me of that old cartoon dog that was always mumbling, lips hardly moved when he talked. Probably took too many shots to the head, but I'm sure he could have whipped any of our sorry asses.

It's keeling over on the final play of the game in the stadium after beating a bitter rival. Just the way I wouldn't mind going out.

Eric Gilmore was usually working after the bars closed. We always promised to pay the store back after we got jobs.

got to love the honor system, we'd usually just go across the river to San Souci after the bars closed, good times, except the time a guy pulled a gun on me because he thought I put my quarters in the pool table out of turn, I let him play

It's how I grew up hearing it from '58 on. And Crowe was an undefeated heavyweight boxer for LSU. Pity the fool that he would have caught stealing from him! Nice guy....but you wouldn't want to frick with him.

Changed the name the "deafth" valley to appease both sides.
