I was in New Orleans and someone asked me where I attend school. When I told them UL they just looked at me for a second and then asked....."which one?"

This is correct. In the early 2000s UL was actually UL for a semester and then LSU convinced ULM to bitch and that was the final nail.
ULL may become UL soon though if Jindal shuts ULM down.

That was correct response. ULM orULL. One more time. There is no UL in Louisiana you stubborn Cajuns can try to gun boat the name but it is concrete in stone. Why aren't you happy with who you are. ?

I personally don't care for or use ULL because I think it sounds silly but I don't make a big name stink like the ragin pagin'ers when someone else uses it. I use UL when I'm around Lafayette, UL Lafayette when I'm elsewhere or usually Cajuns when I talk about sports.

I just don't think it makes a difference. People are still talking about the same school whether they use UL, Louisiana, ULL or UL Lafayette.
I don't give a shite what it's called. I just think it has become ridiculous. When it gets to the point where you ignore positive press because the author had the gall to call the school ULL, you're defeating yourself.

I am not a "stubborn Cajun" I attend the school, but that is it. I am not a fan, but anyone from this area accepts UL as being ULL. I say UL in conversation, but when I want to annoy people I add the extra L.
Honestly, Lafayette is a pretty good city and something that UL-Laf shouold embrace in their name. Its funny, all the Cajun homers brag about any article on the internet lauding Lafayette as a city, but they refuse to add it into their school's name.

I find it ironic that you so desperately want us to obey the rules and not call ourselves by an incorrect name. Yet you insist we call ourselves ULL which the university lists as an incorrect reference.
There is no ULL Hill! Our name is set in stone. University of Louisiana at Lafayette or UL Lafayette if you'd like.
Am I doing this right?

UL has done an excellent job of getting inside the AM fan bases heads all week. Thanks to my comrades for making this an enjoyable week as we begin our march into the CWS.

ULM knows their place in the pecking order of Louisiana universities unlike the Techsters and ULaLa. Btw ULM is not going anywhere with their nursing and pharmacy schools ranked where they are. Grambling, NW St, SE La, and either McNeese or Nichols St need to be closed. There are too many schools relative to the population in Louisiana.
