Why can't we go after big strong pro-style, if im not mistaken they can hand off the ball too.

he recruited dinkelmann in 8th grade..

franks is absolutely a pro-style.. regardless how he is labeled.. he's a lot lot mettenberger to me.

LSU needs a qb who is average to win 10 games every year not an all-american. I like Franks a lot as well.

Hayden Rettig was the #9 Pro-Style QB in 2013.

Anthony Jennings was the #14 Pro-Style QB in 2013.

Jared Goff was the #15 Pro-Style QB in 2013.

Mettenburg is nothing like Franks. Franks is way more athletic than Mett. Mett was like a statue in the pocket compared to Franks. He can scramble around a little to buy time or he can take off running. Also can run the read option with Franks.

Franks is more athletic than mett but like you said, he is not a duel threat. Both have big arms and with the right coaching franks can absolutely be a better qb than mett. It's hard to compare them now considering 1 is in the NFL and one in high school.

Besides all that, it has nothing to do with the QB, it's the system that we run that makes the QB's look so bad. We run a very complicated 'pro style' system that takes the QB's and recievers many years to master. If this guy jared Golf was at LSU he would look like crap also anyway.

The statue of shaq outside the PMAC is more athletic than Mett.

That is total BS. Franks is very much a duel threat. Maybe not as fast as Harris but he can most definitely run when he needs to. NOt saying he is going to be as good as these guys but Franks is more in the mold of an Andrew Luck or Aaron Rogers than say a Dan Marino or Tom Brady

If we don't at least demonstrate that we can consistently complete more than 8 forward passes a game, option QBs (think service academies) will be the only ones willing to come here and we'll be lucky to get 3* receivers.

I know nobody here wants to hear this but it's true. At least right now in theory we can pass if we absolutely need to. If we can't start showing these kids they can come here and thrive we have to run against 11-man boxes because our opponents will know we can't pass even if they put no one in coverage.
