If we don't at least demonstrate that we can consistently complete more than 8 forward passes a game, option QBs (think service academies) will be the only ones willing to come here and we'll be lucky to get 3* receivers.

I know nobody here wants to hear this but it's true. At least right now in theory we can pass if we absolutely need to. If we can't start showing these kids they can come here and thrive we have to run against 11-man boxes because our opponents will know we can't pass even if they put no one in coverage.
Wrong.

There are HS QBs who want to go to a college program that will teach them how to be an NFL QB. LSU does that. LSU uses a complicated NFL system that prepares QBs to play in the NFL.

There are always going to be some QBs who want to put up big numbers in a simplified college system.

Likewise, there are always going to be some QBs who want to learn what it takes to succeed in the NFL.

Jared Goff was offered by three schools: Cal, Washington State, and Boise State. That's it.

LSU SIGNED two higher rated pro-style QBs that year.

You can't fault LSU for not offering Jared Goff.

You can't fault LSU for not offering QB's like Jared Goff.

You can't argue that QB's with Goff's talent dont want to play in a run heavy offense. Well, I guess you can make that argument, but you'd have to be a moron because you'd be patently wrong.

What in the hell are you talking about?? complicated NFL system?? Waaaaaaaahhhhhtttt??? There's a reason Les Miles has never received a major sniff at a head coaching job in the NFL. And it aint because his system is too complicated.

I recall Lou Tepper running a "complicated" system, as well.

Of course not, they would rather throw 5 INTs in a pass happy offense

Yep. How long would it take tiger nation to turn on a QB that threw 5 INTs in a game? His fault or not.

That's funny, because we've signed the top WR in the nation the past two cycles. And as many have stated, we pretty much only recruit Pro Style QB's, Harris being the exception.

And Jordan Jefferson, Anthony Jennings, Ryan Perrilloux, Russell Shepard, Jamarcus Russell, heck Flynn wasn't slow....I'd say the opposite is true, Mettenberger being the exception.

I don't see any NFL teams looking like LSU on offense, but I do envy those silly simple offenses that put up points and yards consistently and don't require a 6 yr apprenticeship for every new QB.

That said, the offense looked good yesterday. Looked how it should look every week.
