ULL football hasn't had a lot of success vs. LSU. I believe the Tigers are 23-0 vs the Ragin Cajuns, have outscored them by an average of 45-2, and ULL hasn't scored a TD in the series in over a century

Why is USL so important that we should play them more often?

Really? I know a lot of ULL fans and alumni who also support LSU. It's not that hard to do. And "100's"? Really? Exaggerate much?

Well, it's impossible to play USL in football since that university no longer exists. So, I wouldn't worry about it.

Continuously ranked baseball program.
Second largest University in the state.
Only 45 min trip down I-10.
Lots of hate between the two schools.
Need I go on?

Whoever thinks that LSU doesn't need to play the Cajuns to improve their RPI, doesn't understand RPI.
Winning a series against a top50 RPI team could be the difference between hosting only a regional vs also hosting a super regional.

Football is on a different level of course. But all other sports would be great competition/rivalry.

To repeat, LSU does not NEED to play ULLLLL in baseball to improve its RPI. LSU has played the #1, #10, #11 teams in the country so far. LSU by the time the season ends, will have played at least 7 teams in the Top 20, at least 4 in the Top 10. Three times each. With the SEC tournament, add at least 2 more Top 20 teams if not higher ranked. That's roughly, 25 games against Top 20 teams. Out of 50+ for the season. Tell me again why playing ULLLLL would have a roll in making a Super Regional happen? And ULLLL will never be a rivalry game in any sport.

I live in Lafayette, and nearly every ULL grad I know who is originally from Lafayette and follows sports has the utmost hatred for LSU. When questioned why, I usually get an answer along the lines of "LSU thinks they're so high and mighty" blah blah blah. Sure, there's quite a few ULL grads that support LSU, but the majority of those aren't originally from Lafayette in my experience

Except baseball...and softball....and maybe basketball. Football is the only major sport ULL would not be a good rivalry game for LSU.

To repeat, you don't understand RPI. Just because LSU plays more ranked teams, doesn't mean they will win those games. Playing and winning a weekend series against UL would help LSU. Could be the difference between the 8th & 9th seed at the end of the season. And yes it would be a rivalry. The two schools hate each other and would be competitive in every sport besides football.

I'm a ULL grad that's originally from Lafayette. Of course there is a portion of the ULL alumni/fan base that hates LSU, but that portion is smaller than most people think I assure you.

I look at it this way....why play ULL in baseball or softball and help THEIR RPI? Their conference isn't nearly as strong as the SEC. Let them raise their strength of schedule somewhere else.

There are a ton of ULL grads that tailgate at every LSU game and wear purple and gold

Garbage. ULL is not on LSU's level in any sport. One NCAA men's basketball tournament win since the Bo Lamar days 44 years ago. Never won an NCAA tournament game in women's basketball ever. ONE baseball appearance in Omaha. Heck....LSU has even passed up ULL in women's softball the last few seasons. Golf? No. Track & Field? No. Tennis? No. Where's the great competition?

Its USL
It's SWLAJC@L.

Southwest Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette.

The entire state of Louisiana should be covered with Junior Colleges, save for LSU, Tulane, La.Tech, Grambling and Southern.

Northeast Louisiana JC @ at Monroe.
Northwest Louisiana JC @ Natchitoches.
Southeast Louisiana JC @ Hammond
Southwest Louisiana JC @ Lafayette (With a mascot name change to "Ramblin Acadians.")
McNeese JC @ Lake Charles
Central Louisiana JC @ Pineville

The State of Louisiana certainly does not need all the 4-Year Colleges. Way past time to convert most to JC's......................
