Are either of these schools in BCS conferences? The answer is no. I said you to be in a BCS conference and you have to win.

The Big 12 won all their OOC games except for Arky beating A&M...

Because a team like KState has played all but two teams with a winning record the computer finds them really strong to walk away with 9 wins.

I'm curious what it will do to the SEC's computer numbers after we have a weekend slate of:

FSU/Florida
Clemson/USC
Ga Tech/UGA
Wake Forest/Vandy

If you told me ahead of time the ACC won 3 or 4 of those heads up match-ups I would believe you

Are you really saying the either LSU or Bama won't win the SEC? That's a pretty obvious statement that I think a 1st grader could make with a high level of certainty.

It was meant to be a statement of the obvious. It was in response to "win your conference and you're in".

Because outside of the top 3 or 4 teams this is the worst group of SEC teams in recent memory.

Auburn, Ole Piss, Moo State, Kentucky, Florida and Tennessee are just dreadful

Vandy is better but not good

USCe is much diminished after losing Lattimore and UGA is feasting on bottom feeders

He'll even arKansas has only one Top 25 win over USCe and that was after Lattimore got injured

Yup. Outside of the top 3, every other team is really mediocre. Hell, Arky might even be mediocre as well.

Bama is almost assuredly not going to win their division or conference and is almost assuredly going to play in the NCG. Last time I checked, they were in a BCS conference.

BTW, you need to learn to detect sarcasm.

I didn't read this whole thread, but the Big 12 is 27-3 in OOC games with only losses to BCS schools. No other conference has that resume.

Plus every Big 12 team plays 9 conference games so they basically play an extra quality, BCS opponent

Good point. Playing in a conference championship gives those teams a boost at the end though.

BS...The SEC has 5 strong teams: LSU, Bama, Ark, UGA and South Carolina.

It has 5 mediocre teams: Auburn, Tennessee, Vandy and Miss State,

It has 2 terrible teams: Ole Miss and Kentucky.

When you have five teams that have a combined 5 conference losses, the losses will mount with those other 7 teams...

The Big 12 has terrible defenses, and their best teams have losses to mediocre teams.

matt, see my earlier point. The SEC has two extra teams...and three of our 5 OOC losses were by those two teams.

It has only been done twice, but both times the team lost the conference championship game. That means they have at least won their division to get into the game. Efforts were taken after both games to try and ensure that it didn't happen again.

If Arkansas beats LSU and Bama wins, then all three can claim that they won their division. Only one team can go to the SEC title game...but all three are division winners.

Chicken - see the link.

Conference Rankings

Yeah, the SEC's winning percentage is right with the Big12's and that is why the SEC is 2nd. I think the SEC's bad losses really play a role. 3 of the 5 losses were to non-BCS schools and 2 were to bad BCS conferences

They have a stronger case if LSU does lose then if LSU wins, in my opinion. If LSU wins Friday then they are a lock to play in the game with or without a win at Georgia. Whereas, Bama needs either LSU to lose to Arky or for OSU to not make a strong push the week following.

(Note that the two teams above at least played in their CCG whereas I am only going to assume Bama will not)

Xeno, to be fair, you should use 27-5 since 12 of the games were against FCS teams.

How many teams in the Big 12 do you reckon are less mediocre than Arky? How many are less mediocre than Georgia? How bout S. Carolina?

Would the fifth best team in the Big 12 (who is that? I don't know. Texas? A&M?) be favored against S. Carolina on a neutral field?

Would the fourth best be favored against Georgia?
