re: Why do people think it was JJ's call to decline the bid?

By that logic, Alleva made the call on all the playing time decisions this year, all the timeouts (or non-timeouts), all the defensive calls, the mix of pressing, the rotations, the practices, the strategy on when to sit players with foul trouble, etc.
You do understand that there's a difference between the business aspect of the program and the in-game aspect of the program, right?
Please tell me you're not THAT dumb.

No, what is interesting is you don't understand the criticism of your overbroad, stupid logic on this situation. If Alleva is the boss and has final say, Johnny can't be on the hook for any decision. If Alleva can cede authority to him on some matters, he can do it on all matters. That's where your argument fails. QED, female dog.

We declined a CBI invite after Johnny's first season. Does anyone remember if that was his call or Alleva's? I'm genuinely curious.

I know right? Ben signs with an agent and we act like CJJ said "we aren't going anywhere".

Pancho's Raise the Flag Worst Four Tournament
Now this is one I can get behind, plus I would have really liked our chances

I don't know who made the decision but I am disappointed that anyone associated with LSU basketball would decline the opportunity to play additional games.
That is not a mentality needed in moving the program forward.

Then he needs to tell the truth and not try to fall on the sword for his team's lack of character. Because at this point, make no mistake about it, his reputation as a coach has been skewered, both locally and nationally, possibly to the point of no return.
If he does will the Rant decide that he threw his players under the bus?
You know it will happen.

I was wrong.
You really are that fricking stupid.

But it's all horseshite anyway; there was no bid to begin with. This is the athletic department trying to save a little face.
How do you figure? We had a better record than other SEC teams going...

The university has to foot the bill to play in that one, so I don't have an issue. But it was probably an administrative decision

So if doing that is too embarrassing to cop to, and they know that to the point that they would lie about what happened to cover it up, why would you assume that's what happened?
I'm assuming nothing. Just think that unless a video surfaces, a generic response like the one offered is all we will hear.
