Why didn't Etling play in the Wisconsin game?

He is clearly light years ahead of Harris. This should have been seen before the season started. Just a shame that we had to get a lose before a change was made.

Maybe the rumor of a tweaked back was true?

Miles said it wasn't a quality position to put him in. He did say he had the want to play however

Because he was hurt.

It was why they kept showing McMillan as the backup during the game.

I can't believe Etling wasn't named the starter coming out of spring based on what we've seen from him. Seriously, it's not even close.

My guess is loyalty to Harris. Miles likes that sort of thing.

Harris apparently looks great in practice.

Then goes deer in the headlights during games.

Miles has no clue what you're talking about?

Then why didn't Etling start against JSU? He wasn't hurt anymore.

Because your head coach plays favorites and doesn't always put his best plays on the field. He doesn't maximize his talent and he never will as long as he's the coach.

You and I know he wouldn't have played if the man was 100% healthy and Harris was hobbling around on one leg. Miles has to be in complete hot seat mode before implementing change. Its all he knows.

I upvoted this, but at the same time recognize that our season will not come down to how we did against Wisky. We'll have a number of SEC losses to see to that. Unfortunately.

I keep reading this on here, but have never read it from anyone that actually attends practice. I heard all summer and fall that our QBs looked so so. I'm actually a little surprised by etling

I didn't realize that, but it is a good reason.

I'm going to say what appears quite obvious. Miles has a preference to play a black QB is he can. In the times that we live in, it makes a lot of sense. Coaches are mostly old white men who make millions of dollars. Most players are African American. They are making the coaches very rich. I could easily see racial division happening on a football team. By trying to be loyal to his AA players, especially in key positions is the smart play.

It makes good sense. This goes all the way back to the Jarret Lee/JJ conspiracy.

These are challenging times. This would not be easy to manage and it could quickly get out of control on a football team.
