OU never panicked - like when LSU was beating Bobby Knight - he said I just looked at the other bench and realized who I was coaching against

Who passed quarterman the ball?

Simmons did on the inbound, and it should have been immediately tapped back to him. The 3-4 seconds on the clock was enough for him to get down floor. He can take about 3 dribbles and be well past half court at full speed.

Such an original thought...

Lol, you really think Brady could have won that game? If Brady were coaching this team we'd be averaging 65 pts a game.

I remember in past years when LSU's fans had this same argument. The best player needs to get the ball every single possession. Well, most of the time that's a great way to become a one dimensional team. This team has already had trouble being one dimensional this year.

Because they have an upper classmen team that at this point in time is better than us.

It should not have been passed back to him. You don't make a backwards pass with that little time left.

Quarterman did exactly what he should have done. Caught the ball on the run, got his head up the floor. His only mistake is that he should have maybe tried to advance the ball with the pass, from that point.

The game wasn't lost on that last possession, though. It was lost thanks to an entire second half of awful offense.

Well, he does have a track record of not being a good game coach.

Hield couldn't miss in the 2nd half.

..that is why we lost.

No, he's a senior.

(I think the refs helped a little but no body wants to hear that)

I think most fans realized our players left it all on the floor.

Does anyone really think JJ gave his best coaching job ever?

If JJ coaches with the same level that the players played.......

Don't know about ever but it was far from the retard scribbling on a clipboard that some of you einsteins proclaim.

turnovers was why we lost. Turnovers when we had a comfortable lead that led to some easy looks in transition, got Hield going and got OU back in the game.

Now, I've certainly not been timid about concerns with aspects of CJJ's coaching and opining on them and I've been reprimanded several times here for them, such is the case on forums like this.

But I think it's debatable as to how much of that falls on CJJ. Certainly the lazy lob passing is something that should be eliminated in October, and if it was addressed then and the players know better than there needs to be some sort of accountability for continuing to do so.

But IMHO the root cause of the loss was turnovers, not Ben being timid (at least not IMHO in this game) or not calling a TO or whatever else.

thank you salviati from virginia ! somebody FINALLY got their head out of their arse long enough to realize LSU didn't "lose" the game; they got BEAT by the (very deservedly) #1 team in America who shot unbelievably in the last 4 minutes of the game !!! there's probably not a team in the NBA that would have stopped their three's during that time...so Ben was tentative; what a surprise for a kid that was playing high school bb less than 9 months ago...so Tim took the ball all the way instead of passing off; who else was doing any scoring before that, not to mention that he was FOULED on the way to the hoop...surely it was all the coach's fault...oh, I know, let's fire him and hire Coach K !!! some of you people just expect WAY too much!!!

I realize that these guys need to rest but the game went to Oklahoma at the 12:16 mark of the second half with the Tigers leading 59-49. At that time CJJ took out Hornsby, Victor, and Quarterman. He subbed Gray, Epps, and Blakeney. We totally lost the momentum at that point. Quarterman returned at the 9:05 mark and when Hornsby and Victor returned at the 7:56 mark the score was 61-57. The momentum was gone and we never got it back.

It's my fault. I didn't see the first half and only watched parts of the 2nd half, but every time I looked at the TV Oklahoma hit a 3-pointer.

Yep. Four of their starters have started 88 consecutive games together.

I don't bash the coach, but I will say that I would of kept someone on that boy who killed us with the instructions to block him away from anywhere he wanted to go , the young man would have been wore out at crunch time ! Their other stud would have had to stand up big time !
