If we hired Canada to fool defenses with all the motions and shite and we now have to simplify that. For what? It's basically the same offense, it just cost more.

Like the headcoach, we needed a new direction and start from scratch.

I still like this offensive scheme more than toss dive to the strong side.

On a side note, Steve Ensminger was running things nicely after he left imo.

Because our OL hasn't had to legitimately pass protect in 4 years. We have inexperience on the OL and they are missing their assignments. The simplification is going to come with the OL. You will probably still see WRs in motion.

I was actually hoping for a toss dive on the safety. Would have likely worked better.

This is just another example of a team that has no identity or direction.

Ensminger's O was the best LSU has ever seen. It may have been the same O Miles installed but Steve did a far greater job running it. Fournette and Guice flourished behind JD Moore.

You know he was calling mostly out of Cameron's playbook.

There have been some stupid posts since we lost to State but this may be the stupidest.

maybe so, but you have to admit that Ensminger did a hell of a job last year when he took over OC duties

Florida and Alabama beg to differ.

At least Les got 16 points the last time he played Bama. O couldn't get that much against Alabama and Florida combined.

WTF cares about stats vs Missouri and Southern Miss?

Les and Cam dropped 56 and 600+ yards against Texas Tech.

I think he ran the ideal major college offense; strong running game with ability to pass.

At a program like LSU, you don't need a lot of trickery. You should be able to force most defenses to adjust to stopping your run, and pass when they stack the line.

Canada's short yardage formation sucks bigtime.

I think it just comes down to OL, especially a high end left tackle. You need pass protection to do what any coach besides Miles will want to run

Good OL almost anything works, bad OL almost nothing works.

Miles can get the best out of an OL that struggles in space, but that is not an offense that can score on Alabama.

Canadas O needs to be able to block in space or his scheme struggles. I say keep running this scheme and get Brennan comfortable for next year. Let the OL that will contribute next year get used to working in space. And sign some elite damn lineman this cycle, JUCO and HS. You got the gig at LSU Orgeron, do your thing.

Once we rebuild the OL we will see the purpose of the window dressing Canada runs imo. I believe it's purpose is to keep two defenders in two separate zones in the box, one crashing on the edge and one on the dive. It will give receivers that much more space to work with down field on play action shots once we can slow a pass rush. And if the can't play up on both the sweep and the dive because we give our QB time watch for big hitters to start popping off on those runs

Right now it looks dumb a times because they can just attack both points up front and still get to the QB most of the time. With solid pass pro you can't defend all three options and we will cycle through them with big chunk plays available every time we guess right.

If we were really just worried about the safest bet record wise this season, rather than risk not improving a little up front in space then the Miles approach would prob work best with this OL. A couple NFL runnning backs, our best tackle prospect playing center flanked by 4 guards, and 2 TEs that are not eligible receivers somehow. And run the toss dive all game until guice breaks a couple long ones

IMO

If by "hell of a job" you mean inconsistent and incompetent against good defenses than I agree.

Cameron's O in 2013 may have been the best the SEC has ever seen.

Only team ever in the SEC with 2-1000 yard recievers, 1000 yard rusher, and 3000 yard passer. Also led the country in 3rd down conversions.

I was fine with Les and Cam.
