when Tennessee offered him the AD role? That was their "Trent Johnson" moment and they blew it. Baylor's AD would have been an accomplished and youthful addition.

I don't think most folks even know what an AD does and certainly most on this forum don't know enough to evaluate the AD's performance.

I've never been a fan, just got a bad vibe meeting him in person a couple of times, didn't think someone with a Duke pedigree was a good fit for a football school, but IMO, Caldwell was a good catch, and he swung for the fence for the softball coach. So, this is a defining moment for him. This the one sport where he should crank it out of the park, and if he whiffs and delivers us Johnny Jones and tries to convince us that he is the best one for the job, then he can start packing as far as I'm concerned.

he's made nothing but good to great hires since he's been here. and, he's maintained or increased the revenue that LSU athletics is producing. I'd say he's doing a fantastic job.

Look at alleva's record at duke. Nothing but bad hires there. I don't see the Caldwell hire as a clear success, since he's paying almost a million/year for a sport that will lose money no matter what.
