Something I noticed. Looked like he was pointing to Foster while he was on the ground rather than trying to get it in ASAP.

He had slipped & was sitting on his arse & knew he had no way to make the play. Foster should have picked up the ball rather than just standing there looking at it.

He took a moment to point at Foster and say "your unbelievable decision not to keep the ball in front of you may have just cost us the series".

When he slipped he was looking to Foster to flip for the throw. Foster had kept on running. Would've made a faster throw back in to do so.

Yea, Foster screwed up a couple times on that play...that was just a really surreal chain of events

Yes he did, and to make it worse you could tell he took it to the plate with him in the bottom of the inning.

Black Sox syndrome? Nope. Just college ball. It happens.

It never should have gotten to that point in the first. Tanner from Bad News Bears screwed that up from the get go.

I'll be honest Bergman really flops in crucial situations.

...like the one on Friday where Bregman was hit with the batted ball while trying to run from 1st to 2nd?

Bregman reminds me of Drew Brees. Diminutive, gym rat, model citizen, leader, and great at his sport. He has us so spoiled, that we shite on him when he screws up (see INT in the red zone). We will all appreciate what we had when they are gone.

Was surprised to read that CPM did not throw Foster under the bus when he said that Foster was making a "hustle play" & did not blame him. As CPM said, the ball was hit so softly it did not even reach the warning track. Common sense point being, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th,a one run lead, you let the ball hit in front of you, get it back in & you are still one out with a runner only on first from winning the game/series. I'll never knock Bregman but his being hit by the game winning shot by Hale was a bone head mistake.

Tries to take wayyyy too much upon himself sometimes. That wasn't his play to make.

Probably thought Festus couldnt hit a barn with a relay so he went out to get it himself. If Froster would not have been feeling sorry for himself for looking like a fool on the play and having some simlance of baseball savy, he would have been following the play and saw Bregman looking to toss him the ball to throw it to home.

As painful as a re-watch is, when I look at the video it looks to me like Foster is right there behind Bregs looking for the flip to throw it in. Also, the cutoff man is jumping up and down begging for Bregs to throw it. He looks like he considers both of those options, does neither, and then decides to jump to his feet to make a throw home. The major mistake is definitely on Foster, but Bregs didn't do us any favors either. Flip the ball to Foster to make the throw home or throw to the cutoff man from your arse and we make the play at home. Be a hero and try to do it all on your own, and we get to watch an in the park homerun.
