He would have had the game stayed close
Wasn’t he warming up before little came in
He should have pulled Hurd after leadoff walk in fifth

Because we got pantsed on Friday.

Sunday we probably should have brought him in once we got it tied up instead of letting Hurd go

Why did they do a lot of stuff that happened in that series? Lot of head scratchers for sure

It was a pretty weird/bad series all around.

Holman wasn’t on his A game, state got some fluky hits, we had horrendous plays in the field all 3 games.

Our lineups were a bit weird and the bullpen management was pretty bad. It didn’t seem to matter who went in though they got wrecked.

I am curious what the state staff was using binos for and if Jay noticed it.

We will find out this week if last weekend was a trend or a one-off for both State and LSU.

I think it was a fluke weekend.

1. Lemonis is on the ropes and for whatever reason he can get his team to play vs us
2. All road teams struggled last week
3. We looked really disjointed as a team this weekend. We couldn’t get anyone out with 2 strikes or 2 outs like we had been, we couldn’t stack key hits, we looked great on D then backed it up by looking like the keystone cops on other plays. Our pitching choices seemed out of place.

I do worry this staff is light on velocity guys we don’t have the Skenes/Floyd guy that can just rip by you.

It sucks having Shores out because I think he could stabalize us.

He knows what he has in Ack.

He trying to see what he has in others.

That was the first time this season we had real high pressure spots.

We have plenty of arms that throw mid 90’s.
Maybe pitchers need to learn how to hit spots and coaches need to mix pitches better.

I thought we did but last weekend we went breaking ball heavy and it didn’t look like we had many swings and misses in our fastballs.

I said the same about Hurd. Not gonna say JJ lost on purpose but I think he was definitely willing to let Hurd crash and burn instead of making the change and having a chance to win the game. He followed that up by leaving Little in too long when the game was 7-5 and still winnable.

Probably because we didn’t have a lead late.

We have 9 guys who have hit 95 mph already this year and we haven't even hit the warm months. Velocity is the last thing we are missing.

Why did Ulloa only pitch to one batter all weekend?

But sure, let's ride Hellmers, Bronzini, and Little to victory.

Closers don’t close when you’re behind

He was warming up Sunday until they extended their lead. No need to waste the guy at a time in the game where things don't look particularly competitive.

If you are going to concede a game like we did on Sunday, I would have preferred that we threw a pitcher to get us out of the 8th before the run rule then let some of the young guys pinch-hit in the top of the 9th to get some SEC experience.

yeah idk. maybe he didn’t want to warm him up 2 days in a row

but I think a guy who can go 4-5 inning in too valuable to be the closer.

I guess the counterargument would be if he threw Ackenhausen in there and he tore his UCL. Everyone on here would have roasted him. Why even take a chance on that?
