I'm a Tiger fan by choice since I was raised a yankee and am a Colorado alumn. There is nothing else like LSU football. I've moved a lot and rarely adopt the local team. LSU and the Pittsburgh Steelers are the two exceptions.

"why do you breathe oxygen?"

Some things you just cannot live without, even though you may not know all the reasons why.

LSU is in my Blood. That is why I am an LSU fan.

Why am I an LSU fan?? That is a very good question and I will try to give it the attention that it deserves!! When you first arrive on the LSU campus you see the lecture halls and classroom buildings and it takes you back to a more simplier time. It seems at times like time as stood still. Then you start to realize that there is the faint smell of something very good being cooked in the air. You start to follow that smell and soon you are waking through parking lots and side streets and the smells of the food cooking and the sound of laughter and conversation of young and old over power your senses. People wave at you and invite you over to join them to eat, drink, and be merry, even though you have never laid eyes on them before in your life. As the day goes on, the vibe you have been feeling starts to take on a different feel, and as you look up and see the stadium looming above, you feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when you hear The Golden Band From Tigerland start their march down the hill toward the stadium. The gates open up and everybody starts heading for their seats to where some of the greatest spectacles have taken place in college football history! Such as when a running back takes a ball 82 yards down the sideline to score a touchdown on Halloween night to give the school their only Heisman Trophy winner and when the team scored a touchdown that there fans cheered so loud that it registered on the seismograph on the other side of the campus!! The electricity that is in the air when the kickoff is about to happen, and it stays there with the same intensity when the last second ticks off on the game clock at the end of the game cannot be equalled anywhere else in the world. And to quote a certain coach that I can't remember his name, I will swear to god that there is definitely the smell of bourbon coming off that field after everyone as just about left for the night!! Especially when evry player that has set foot on that field, leaves alot of blood, sweat, and tears on it!! Also when a group of men that have not ties with a city that has been decimated by nature's fury, rise up and start helping out with what ever can be done by them to help ease the pain of others suffering around them, and still try to stay focused on playing football makes me proud to say that I am a born and bred LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY TIGER FAN!!!

My fandom only goes back to 1997. What can i say, i was a fan of Herb Tyler and DiNardo. I remember playing as LSU on EA Sports college football game and I was hooked. I was never a Penn State fan growing up (strange as I live in PA) so my favorite team just became those LSU Tigers. I have never been down to the U or Death Valley but I would love to someday. I've received much ribbing for my fandom from my fellow yankees but can bask in the 2 NC wins in the past 5 seasons!

My dumbass parents raised me to be a Bama fan, but fortunately I had the brains in the family, so I was smart enough to rebel.

Just in case anyone thinks I'm a fairweather fan who changed when the Tigers got good and Bama went down the tubes: I became a fan of LSU in 1989 and my first several years as a Tigah were some of the worst in the program's history. Bama, on the other hand, was still going strong.

I didn't switch loyalties because of team success, but because I went to a game at Tiger Stadium. 'Nuff said.
