Standards are the same. If CEO puts us without a chance to win the SEC west we need to move on to the next HC.

I think people's expectations were waaaay out of whack before the season and seeing the issues we have at both lines of scrimmage I think has brought the expectations of many back to reality.

And for others I think they are big O fans who touted his hire from the mountain tops and will rationalize all they can to put a good light on him and blame Les solely for the O and D-line issues. And it helps in that agenda to lower the standards.

absolute nonsense considering part of the argument for keeping O is that we'd keep continuity and avoid a rebuild

I've read your post lately and while is obvious you hate the O hire, I really and beginning to question your football IQ. The whole offense has changed especially the blocking schemes. And having linemen motioning from one side to the other to me is a big part of the problem. When did you ever see Les Miles motion right tackle and left guard to opposite sides and then try to have them block. Never

Again any idiot can win 10 games a year at LSU in the SEC west. Piece a cake.

Remind me again who had lasted 12 years in this league and won more? I keep forgetting.

I was talking about Les' decline over the last 3+ years. That's why he was fired. Yes, he had a lot of success prior to that. But 15-11 in the SEC, 10-10 against the West, all with elite recruiting over the last 3+ years, is what doomed Les.

Not a whole lot to dispute there.

Link? I haven’t seen these posts. You’re full of it. Take your program bashing somewhere else.

You hate Coach O, Ponamsky, Canada, Joe Alleva, F King, now making up crap about the other fans...go find another hobby if you’re that miserable.

O's statement at the end of last season was, "but next season, things are going to be different. We’re going to be in it (College Football Playoff).’”
So who's changing the narrative?
What he says has nothing to do with why Miles was fired Stay on point.

no one wants to be mediocre for ever but some people have enough common sense to see that it takes time to implement a new scheme and the mature talent on this team is thin

Bull shite! Nothing more than making excuses.

There is no good excuse for what took place at Mississippi State. Anyone not shocked by how LSU played and gave up in that game is both blind and dumb. fricking Syracuse took us to the wall at HOME!

The main reason we hired O, supposedly, was to have a continuation of the program already established and NOT have fricking rebuilding problem. That looks to be circling the drain fast.

Anyone with their head not stuck up their arse should be able to see that unless O pulls a fricking rabbit out from somewhere, we are seriously fricked.

Alleva needs to go and the sooner the better. That's what needs to be driven home by everyone who gives a shite for LSU sports.

I'm not lowering standards, but understanding reality. I'm not going to let it bend me out of shape. Our O-line isn't good. Our D-line will be fine next year. We have a young QB for the future. I want to see these kids compete and grind out some wins. If we're in the Indy Bowl I'll be there!!!!!!!

We get what we accept or what we demand. We accepted mediocrity with the hire of O. Why is anyone surprised by our football program's rapid decent into football oblivion unless something changes quickly?

Im not pumping Miles. Im responding to alttiger that took it upon himself to diss Miles. Let me refresh your ignorant memory, Dogfan.
quote:

10 wins don't mean much when they're padded with cupcakes and shitty bowl wins. The SEC, particularly the West, is what really matters. And the "last guy" was 15-11 in the SEC, 10-10 against the West, his last 3+ years. All with elite recruiting.

10 wins dont mean much? Ok have it your way.
padded with cupcakes? The SEC west was never stronger than it was when Les was at the helm. its a cakewalk today vs the last 8-9 yrs.
Meaningless bowls? Like the one Ed took us to last yr because he lost as a 14 point favorite at HOME and will again take us to another meaningless bowl this year.

10-10 against the west with elite recruiting? but no QB who couldve went 10-10 with Jennings and Harris?

Some of you should look around the SEC and look at some of the records these other teams have had in the last 10 years. Especially when they had poor QB play.

Its not about the previous coach, its about why dont we expect the new coach to win more than the last coach who was fired for not winning the west more often?
Miles made his own bed with keeping Cam and staying with Harris at QB. No one can argue very hard that a change wasnt needed. But to lower the expectations after the change is beyond ignorant.

When will you guys get this? You dont need to defend O or attack others for bringing up the previous coach because in order to answer the question of why are the expectations lower you have to bring up the previous coach's resume and compare the 2.

Why some of you do not understand the only reason you would replace someone is to upgrade the results is mind-boggling to me. Period.
You guys act like the new coach took over Kentucky or Ole Miss.
He himself said he expects this year's team to reach the playoffs and to put a fence around the state in recruiting. Why in the hell wouldnt we expect what he expects?

LSU football is a hobby....which I use as an escape from the grind of everyday nonsense. Just like some of you golf, or hunt I watch football. I am very passionate about them, and I want them to win just as bad as everyone else. I have zero control over it. They aren't my children, they aren't my students, and they aren't my own players. I set extremely high expectations for them because I am directly responsible for them.
