Why are some so sure about Hermann over CEO?

What is it that Hermann has done for you to be so sure? Anyone remember Kevin Sumlin? I know OSU beat Bama but that was all Ezekiel Elliott not just Hermann. I also think Applewhite is a good offensive coordinator. I'm just not convinced we do t have the right staff already in place. We're even using our tight ends now. I'm not all in for paying Hermann or Jimbo $6-$7MM a year. I think it's a bad decision.

Not many people left in that camp today.

Why are some so sure about CEO over Herman after just 3 games?

Herman is far superior to Sumlin
His body of work as OC with OSU is more impressive in itself, and his body of work against ranked teams.
Houston has beaten a number of ranked teams these past two seasons. Yes, they have lost 3 games, but they are still not that talented. He has done wonders with Ward.
The reason I want Herman is because he is an offensive mastermind, a lot like Aranda on defense and the pair would be a dream.. and you never have to worry about what coordinators come and go on that side of the ball.
It's great what CEO is doing now, but this is a loaded LSU team that is playing loose and he is a great motivator.. but for long term I prefer an x and o's guy.. and I believe LSU has a better chance at attracting great DC's than great OC's.. and with a Herman I believe eit's like a Meyer, where you always have a great offense.. or like a Saban.. and you always have a great defense.. regardless when coaches leave.
I want LSU to hire an x and o's guy, not just some lovable figure.
LSU has shown while being established even an avg coach like Miles can come in and maintain or have success. They have also shown.. when he got stale but still talented even an interim coach can come in and have success.. I just think with a mastermind at HC then the sky is the limit with LSU..
If Coach can go undefeated than I do believe he would have earned it.. I just really like the idea of finally having an offensive mastermind that can have success through the air and on ground.. regardless of quarterback.. We seem to get great DC's with our talent.. a guy who can adjust his entire offense mid-season if needed.
Keep in mind even the greats drop games, Saban dropped a number of games in his first gig.. even embarrassing ones.
I know there have been very successful position only coaches, mainly WR, but how often has a DL coach only been an elite HC?
Then again, as I said, I think LSU can win with even an average coach at a great rate on talent alone.. but a mastermind, x and o's coach could take LSU to elite status IMO.
We'll see how it all shapes out, but I still want Herman, even if they drop a 3rd game, very possible to Louisville. Houston was really never that talented to begin with. Herman just maximized the talent he had to work with.. which is what I want.

You are going to get blasted by the Ogeron haters that populate the Rant! Oh, Herman did beat Tulsa in OT, so he has an accomplishment. Let's see how he handles Louisville.

I'll take applewhite as OC. And we keep O as a HC Aranda ar DC. Raymond and Craig and Juluke as well. Our staff is legit. Don't want to see a new staff come in.

And I'll say this, if Herman puts up 60 on Louisville, I might even buy into the hype.

Here we go with this shite again. Let's say we beat Bama. Is your question going to change to 4 games?
BeBe has completely flipped the script. LSU football is fun again. Our players are playing like the 4-5 star rating theyou were recruited as. I was somewhat skeptical of keeping CEO, but holy shite, did you watch that game last night? Death Valley was rocking! When was the last time Death Valley looked that way?
Offensive records set in all three games. Out scored our opponents 73-7 in the second half of all three games. And that 38-21 score should have been 42-14 if not for horrible officiating.

Well of O loses only one game or possibly two games without being blown out, the job is probably going to be his. If he loses two games and is blown out in both of them or loses three or more games, then it’s time to look outside, and if that is the case, my first choice would be Jimbo Fisher because he is a proven head coach and he also has a national championship under his belt. Therefore, he will be very expensive, but at least we will know what we are getting.
Herman, on the other hand, is completely unproven. At this point, he has been a head coached for less than two years and he has coached another coach’s players. Hence, he is still completely unproven. He may turn out to be an excellent head coach or he may turn out to be another pretender. There is no way to know at this point, as only time will tell.
Hence, Herman should be offered no more money that what is commensurate to his level of experience. If he asks for more money, then he needs to be told to go take a hike. If he is smart, he would accept the job for a chance to coach in the prestigious SEC and also because LSU is one of the most coveted head coaching jobs in the country.

IMO, Hermann's stock has dropped over the last two weeks. Maybe his team has quit on him, figuring that he's gone at the end of the season. Regardless, Houston has plenty enough Talent to have beaten Navy and certainly, SMU.

I believe O has shown the ability to CEO (manage) organize and delegate which is one charecteristic of being a good HC. He already has Aranda as his DC just needs a great OC to handle the offense. I'm not knocking Ensminger at all, as a matter of fact I think he's done a great job so far.

Herman's stock is going down each week. More of a liability than coach O.

If CEO wins out, he has the job obviously.
We shouldn't be held ransom by Jimbo either, make a reasonable offer, about what he gets paid now, if he wants to come here, let him come here.
If Houston doesn't completely collapse and Herman is still in play, offer him 3-4 million and don't get in a bidding war with Texas. Put a stipulation that no kissing except when winning a championship of some sort (sec or nc)
Fleck makes something like $376k right now. Offer him 3 years at 3 mill a year with plenty of bonuses for winning. He should jump at an opportunity like LSU.
Don't overpay for any of those guys. See who geniunely wants to be here and pay them reasonably.

If O ends up being the man, then whoever he hires as OC, as far as I'm concerned, is his decision. If it is Ensminger then fine. If it is someone else, then fine too. Indeed, it is O's decision as head coach to make and I will support it as long as it works.
