Well, I' m going to need someone to define dual threat for me.

Does anyone care to look up JR's rushing yards under Jimbo vs Brandon Harris to date?

And JR didn't get his first yard until the halfway point of the season, TN game.

I'm confused by your statements. Winston isn't anything close to a dual threat QB.

Escapability != Dual Threat

Jameis crab legs Winston is not dual threat by any means

at you thinking that is a picture of Jameis Winston or that my prior post was concerning Winston. You think Jameis has been the only QB Fisher has coached in his time a FSU?

A QB who can have success in an offense running & throwing. It's pretty simple. Running doesn't necessarily have to do with gaining yardage either. It can come from buying time in the pocket until a receiver can get open downfield.

And no I didn't look at the picture very closely. Clearly it's Manuel.

Most people wouldn't have considered JR a dual threat, but he was WAY more effective by your definition than BH has been.

And once JR became a viable threat on the ground, his passing lanes opened up.

Come on man, you really can't believe that Miles is one of the BEST coaches in the country. He was a good coach a few years ago, but nowhere near the best. The last two years he has not been a good coach and the last three games he has been a terrible coach. The win loss record is indicative of all this.

Dual threats he LOVES the work with them. His last 3 starters have all been dual threats.

Ponder 08-10
- 23-12 record
- 588/947 (62%) 6867 yards 47 TDs 28 ints
- 782 rush yards 10 TDs
- 1st round

Manuel 11 & 12
- 21-5 record, ACC champion, Orange Bowl winner
- 466/698 (66.7%) 6063 yards (8.7 ypa) 41 TDs 18 ints
- 461 rush yards 8 TDs
- 1st round

Winston 13 & 14
- 26-1 record, 2 time ACC champion, National champion
- Heisman, #1 overall pick
- 562/861 (66%) 7942 yards (9.4 ypa) 65 TDs 28 ints
- 284 rush yards 7 TDs
- 1st round

He didn't even recruit Christian Ponder, but made chicken salad out of chicken shite.

Look at EJ Manuel and Jameis Winston. This is exceptional QB play and great success. These are dual threat QBs in an advanced and modern pro style offense.

That, and ready for:
better flow of the game

better time management

more discipline and less stupid penalties

adjustments and taking what the defense is giving us

Go look up Jamie's Winston highlights out of high school.

This is an except from his bio on the Seminoles official site

quote:

dual-threat quarterback who played in the shotgun spread where he excelled as a passer in the pocket and on the move...named the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Class 5A Back of the Year as a senior after completing 69 percent of his passes for 2,424 yards and 28 touchdowns and rushing for 1,065 yards (7.4 yards per rush) and another 15 touchdowns...guided Hueytown to a 13-1 mark and the Class 5A state semifinals...named the 2011 Birmingham News Metro Player of the Year...the four-year starter totaled 6,871 career passing yards with 67 touchdowns, completing 60 percent of his 790 passes and threw only 25 interceptions... averaged 6.5 yards per rushing attempt for 2,912 yards and 35 touchdowns on the ground which adds up to 9,853 career yards and a part in 103 touchdowns

He was the definition of a shotgun spread QB. He redshirted then destroyed teams as a pro style pocket passer with mobility as a redshirt freshman.

Harris has the talent to do similar things (maybe not as great). Harris's bio reads almost exactly like that excerpt, only Miles/Cam have no idea how to utilize him.

Yea Harris is good. With a better offensive scheme and game plan he'll be all SEC.

Just look at his track record at Auburn, LSU, and FSU. Every guy he coached except Marcus Randall improved over time and became, at the very least, a solid college QB. The guys with more talent were all drafted (I would include Flynn in this list, since he's was under Jimbo for 4 years).

The other thing I loved about Jimbo was that, over the course of a season, he would adjust to the team's strengths. Look at how pass-happy we were in 2001 and 2006. In 04, when Randall and JR struggled, we were much more balanced to try and help them out.

I look forward to seeing what magic he will work with Brandon Harris. He has raw talent. If anyone can put him in a position to succeed, it's Jimbo.
