Well one thing we all can agree on is that both of these teams would skullfrick the 2007 natty team.

Well, sorry to hurt your feelings, but if we were to freeze time in 2011, Miles DID, in fact, beat Saban. He did it in Saban's back yard. He had also beaten Saban the year before as well. Both times with Jordan Jefferson. Had the 2009 game not been determined prior to kickoff, and had we not lost JJ to an illegal cheap shot (that wasn't called), that game may have turned out different as well.

Miles, like the rest of LSU, was neutered after the Mulligan on 1/9.

Point being, to act like our 2011 coaching staff would lose to 2003 LSUSaban is hilarious, considering he beat him once that season.

2011 was the best LSU team of all time IMO. So I'd pick them. It would be very close though.

I must have missed Jimbo an Pelini going to Alabama and coaching that 2011 team.

Let's settle this now

2003 - Saban

2011 - Miles

The end. 2003 wins 10/10.

You must live in a bubble.
LSU 2003 coaching staff was an all time GOAT. Nearly everyone from that staff got a HC job somewhere.
One thing is for SURE... if both teams had exactly equal talent - I would take the team coached on offense by Jimbo and defense by Saban over anybody else, anywhere, anytime.

2011 by 2 scores. Saban 2003 wasn't a fraction of Saban today.
ALSO:
2011 LSU best 2011 Bama, IN BAMA. Both those teams were far more talented than 2003 LSU.

You're delusional to think that the 2011 team would score enough points on that 2003 defense to win by 2 scores. They would be lucky to even score twice the entire game.

Just like a Nick Saban coached team would obviously crush a Ron Zook coached team?

See my edit. That's a weak argument. Our Saban was good, not great.

In addition, that 2003 LSU staff lost to Ron Zook and a true freshman QB at home.

Prior to the NCG, that 2011 team had run a historic gauntlet of wins over ranked teams. People lose sight of just how amazing that team was because A) They were butt hurt nearly all season because of the Lee/JJ stuff and B) the ugly loss in the NCG.

That 2003 team was great, but it didn't take an all time BAMA team to beat them on their second try, just a mediocre Florida team.

Nostalgia aside, I think 2011 gets it done, with either QB.

Nah. I just live in reality and look at it for what it is.

Never said it wasn't a good staff.

Good for them. So did a lot of members of Saban's 2011 staff at Bama too, yet Miles beat them.....Did I mention he did it in their back yard too, on the biggest stage....with Jordan Jefferson having to come in and win the game? LOL

Yet Ron Zook took them out in Tiger Stadium that year with a Freshman QB, pretty much by having their RB run flat routes against our LBs all day. That's all they did. Only points we could muster was a punt return TD.

I, personally, think Miles is a better coach than Zook.

You folks here act as if nobody has beaten Saban since he's been at Bama. It happens annually, except for 2009. Someone beats him, while one or two others play them close, despite the fact that Saban's second strings at Bama are higher rated recruiting wise than most of the opposition's starting 22. The man is a great coach, but he is not God. LOL

When Saban was at LSU, he lost MANY games he should have won. shite happens.

You live in a bubble?

Justin Vincent ran over everybody in 2003. Yes running backs were better.

It would be a good game, I would pick 2011 because i feel Mathieu would make a game changing play for that team.

And perhaps the best or one of the best in cfb history.

Yup. I added that just now in a reply. One of the worst games I've ever attended.

It really was a season to behold. The way that team was treated after beating Bama by the media was disgusting, but that's CFB for you. If LSU had been a blue blood, they would still talk about that season today. But LSU is not and that is another topic.

Bingo. Our fanbase lives under this delusion that LSUSaban was on the same level as BamaSaban, with the same on and off the field advantages. We are not and never will be.

I've yet to reply as to who I think would win as my first comment was sarcasm. However, if I had to pick:

2011 LSU: 17
2003 LSU: 13

People also forget that in the big games, Matt Mauck was pretty average. Look at his numbers in 2003 when we played Ole Miss, Georgia (both times), and Oklahoma. Our MVP that year was clearly the RBs, and our 2011 RB stable of backs was much better.

Either way, fun topic. Leaving out the 2007 team cracks me up. That's the one with the most dynamic offense, but that would get crapped on because of Crowton here, so.....
