I’m going with Orgeron. He was a completely useless moron. He caught lightning in a bottle with Joe Burrow, Dave Aranda, and Joe Brady. He then completely imploded the program in less than 2 years and left a very depleted roster for his successor.

At least Miles sustained a good program for almost 12 years. He left a loaded roster behind when he was fired during in the middle of the 2016 regular season. His last full season would have been a 10-3 season if not for the McNeese game cancellation due to lightning.

Miles >>>>> Orgeron

Orgeron was solid until he won the title and lost focus entirely. When he was 100% LSU for 3-4 years, he was doing good things. He did some work assembling that 2019 team and was the one who developed that relationship with Joe (and his brother) to get him in purple and gold. He just never was the same after the title.

Miles was like Richt with a little scandal and a national title.

Yes easily, but Orgeron’s best coaching might have been when he took over for Miles and injected some energy into the program. Firing Cam Cameron was a good start.

You know he's a lunatik.

But he's a tiger lunatik, and he's right!

I’m still pissed that Ed pushed the clutch in for 2 years and left us with a mess but Miles was worse. He wasted more talent with bone headed decisions than I can recall.

You mean carried by insane talent and coordinators. He was always what we saw the last two year of his career.

I could go Miles. Took over when a lot of SEC teams were down and he should have won more skins, then there is 1-9-2012 and totally inept offense, and the guy was too stubborn to adapt offensively. Not an O fan but 2019 was the most fun to watch offensive team ever.

Miles was static consistency. Orgeron was unstable and fluid. Miles was capable of having a consistently decent floor, but rarely would rise into the true elite.

Orgeron had no solid philosophy. He was constantly tinkering with new strategies to try anything to win. This resulted in zero consistency, higher ceilings, and lower floors. As soon as he won the title, the lack of any kind of philosophical standard showed the real consequences.

!
The LSU brand and Louisiana talent is a good start. I think Kelly can get us there again, one day!
