The corner back was eyeing Landry when he should have been covering deep.

Oops, never mind, I totally misread your post.

Was this a legitimate question or was the point just to get people to rip on Welter?

At least he jumped for the ball that was 15 yds over his head. Solid defense.

I keep watching it over and over, but I can't figure out who was responsible for covering that WR

I thought it was Barrow at the time. I don't know you can say whose responsibility it was without knowing the call.

Jefferson didn't play much after the first one, so I assume it was him that he shouldn't have ran downhill while the tight end ran right by him.

Definitely

last one on Loston

Without knowing the defensive call, it's hard to say. Loston was playing man(so was the DB on the other side), while Welter was either playing the flat/RB or got caught looking in the backfield.

Seems like either a bad defensive call or Welter messed up...but without knowing the call, who knows.

According to Greg Bowser on the replay last night, he thought the safety had 19, Welter had the RB, and Barrow should have had the tight end.

Yea, the more I watch it, the more it looks like Barrow should have checked out of his rush and played the TE.

It looks to me like Barrow is covering the RB until he sees him in pass protection, at which point he rushes the QB, but it may be that he just got sucked in on the play action. But like others have said, it's impossible to really know.

12 games into the year and still making the same mistakes from last year as well as this year. U would think someone would learn by now go watch a TE near the goaline on a pass play.

I know this thread is about a different play, but it looked like they were in cover 2 and the safety bit on Jarvis instead of playing in his zone.
